The Secret to Your Healing Is In the Word

"Attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." (Prov. 4: 20-22)

The Bible is clear. These verses, and many others throughout the Word of God, promise that it is God's divine will to heal you. There are many, however, that will make a career out of disputing this. That is so sad because they are holding back God's greatest promise of miracles from themselves and many others. It's quite simply a sign of unbelief on their part. Many claim that they have prayed and prayed, but nothing happened. Have you been there? I know I have; many times before I discovered the secret.

The question is not whether it is God's Will to heal, but rather whether you really believe it. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Rom. 10: 17) That's in essence saying that, if you are not familiar with the whole Word of God, then it's hard to build up your faith.

Every believer has been given the measure of faith. (Rom. 12: 3) God did not say 'a' measure, suggesting that some have more than others. He tells us that we all have 'the' measure to live a full, abundant life! In fact, you only need faith the size of a grain of mustard seed to remove mountains of burdens from your life! (Mat. 17: 20)

Ask yourself the following questions: "Do I beg God for my needs only when I am in real trouble"? "Do I know God's Promises for my life? and Do I know how to pray effectively"?

These questions are crucial to having your needs met. The answers are all in the Word of God and they must be personally discerned. No, don't give up now! Don't tell yourself that it's too hard or too complicated! It's not! The gospel is very simple and easy to understand! It's all about coming to the Lord as a little child, climbing on your Daddy's knee and telling Him your needs. He already knows what you need before you ask Him! (Mat. 6: 8)

When you were a child, did your earthly father mean well and promise you all kinds of things? You know that he loved you, but yet you could not be sure that he would give you whatever you asked, right? If your father was generous with you, then how much more shall your Father in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Mat. 7: 11)

All you need to do is ask Him, seek and knock because:

"every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." (Mat. 7: 8)

Are there any conditions to receiving your requests? Yes; really only one, and that is to know the One whom you're asking! If your father was a stranger to you, you wouldn't ask him anything, would you? The Bible is Heavenly Father's loveletter written especially for you! Read a part of it every day and then meditate on it. The Father's heart will be laid bare before you through His Word. Only then can you truly understand the First Commandment:

"Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind and with all thy strength. (Mark. 12: 30)

The more you read about Him, the closer He draws to you and the better you get to know Him. Remember, he created Adam to have fellowship with Him! That's all He wants from you; to be able to walk and talk with you. He is your greatest friend and benefactor; you'll see! The more you trust Him for healing your headache and receive your healing, the more your faith will grow for healing of more serious illnesses and conditions!

Think of it this way: are you a social network chatter, keeping in touch daily with all your past and present friends? Millions of people are! How about chatting first and foremost with your only true friend! He is the only one:

"Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." (Ps. 103: 3-5)

See? It's not hard. The better you get to understand His Word, the more of it gets stored in your heart. The Word of God will instantly flow out, coupled with the faith it has produced, whenever you will need it most. That's when He will say to you:

"Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation." (Ps. 91: 14-16)

Do You Avoid Certain Feelings?

Do you avoid feeling sad, angry, or vulnerable? Some feelings can cause you to lose power and as a result you feel less confident. So you try to avoid that feeling so that you do not lose your power. Many people are mis-educated about feelings, they believe that what they feel defines them and they will be stuck with that feeling.

Emotions come and go, and they do not make up who you are. For example, many people avoid feeling angry because they think that means they are an angry person or they will stay angry if they accept that feeling. Anger will pass just like joy or stress does.

In my life, I have had to distinct experience of trying to avoid feelings of vulnerability, especially in romantic relationships. I would spend so much time trying to avoid feeling vulnerable in romantic relationships because I thought that meant I was weak. I was ruled by my fear of not wanting to seem weak and powerless.

Romantic relationship may not be the area where you avoid certain feelings, for you it may be relationships with your family or friends. We all lose power in one or more of our relationships. Usually there is a specific feeling we can not tolerate experiencing and as a result we avoid and suppress that feeling.

I always was ashamed that I felt vulnerable and even tried to keep how I felt a secret from other people. But in my work as a coach, I found I was not the only one who could not tolerate feeling vulnerable. Many of my clients had the same fear.

What I have seen in my own life is that, the more I avoided the feeling of vulnerability the more it showed up. It's like that saying "what you resist persists". In the past, the more I avoided feeling vulnerable and weak the more I felt vulnerable and weak. It was when I finally accepted how I felt, embraced the feelings, and stopped seeing that as a burden that they moved through me quickly.

Many people avoid what they feel because they are scared they will be overwhelmed by what they feel and will get stuck in that emotion. But the exact opposite happens, when you accept and embrace what you feel it does not have a grip on you and keep re-occurring in your life.

Now If I am sad, hurt, or angry I accept that is what I feel. In the past I would try to intellectualize what I was feeling and push down the actual feeling. Now I say to myself "bring it on" If I am angry then I let it out (usually on a pillow), if I am sad I don't even try to hold back the tears, I let the river run. If I am scared, I say "I am really scared". There is no pretending or denying what I feel.

When you accept and embrace your feelings, you feel a sense of genuine confidence and power about yourself. You also feel much more at ease expressing your feelings with others. What is even more remarkable is that you are able to distinguish that your feelings are separate from you and they are not always aligned with your true self.

Your assignment for this week: Pick one relationship or area of your life that you have a strong fear of experiencing a certain feeling? Focus on that feeling, do not hold back, and let it out. Whatever emotion you feel, sit with it. Avoid monitoring what you are thinking, feeling, or making it wrong. A very good way of releasing emotions is to exaggerate what you feel. So if you feel really sad, think of how a child would their express sadness, and act it out in a similar way. I know this sounds silly, but it works. Children move through feelings fast because they feel it, express it, and move on. Adults avoid, deny, and repress their feelings and they get stuck with it for years.

Living in the Moment

I am a big advocate of learning how to live in the flow of the moment.

Through life experience, education and awareness, I have observed three kinds of people. Those who dwell in the past, those who thrive in the moment and those who prepare for the future.

Most of us hop around from one reality to the next, but overall we are creatures of habit and tend to spend most of our time in one form of reality or another.

Past Dwellers seem to be in some sort of feedback loop. Glory days, past failures, hurt, shame and youth. Some still looking for approval, others in many cases, are Survivors. A great deal of these folks wear their inner survivor like a badge of honor.

Honestly, just because a person may have some crappy ghosts in their past does not mean they need to continue living in survival mode.

When we realize that we are special, unique, and worthy of great accomplishments, we no longer need to reside in the back story. We can start experiencing today by letting go of any attachments to our past. Forgive, leave the burden behind, allow for positive change.

Present Dwellers seem to have things figured out. They are experiencing life as it is at this very moment. They understand that TODAY is the day that matters. They get that this is the day with the greatest potential for accomplishment.

Before learning to be present, I would send bills without postage, put a cereal boxes in the refrigerator, milk in the cupboard, and in the fit of an obsessive compulsive cleaning fury, lose half of what ever it was I put away to reduce clutter.

Thankfully, multi-tasking has become difficult. Being Present for each task is much more rewarding. Learning to ask for help is a bonus jewel.

At some point, normally during some form of early mid-life curiosity, we are supposed to figure out that life is all about the journey ... The experiences along the way that form our reality. We are supposed to know that we are here to learn more about ourselves and the world around us ... one day at a time.

We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us.

We all possess many keys that unlock the Door to our unconsciousness and our soul.

There comes a point in everyone's life when we ask our selves the daunting questions of Who Am I? Why am I here? Where do I go when I die? The most important one is there really a God Source? We may find ourselves asking these questions early in life, after a very traumatic experience or on our death bed. I do believe we ask these questions sometime in our lives.

All it takes is to ask the questions consciously and then be open to hear the answer. You may be handed a key to open another Door. Take the Risk - Open It.

One of the keys we may be handed is to exercise our natural ability to channel.

What is Channeling? Channeling is the ability to make contact with non material realities.

Anyone can be taught how to connect with their higher self and spirit guides, to tap into the information, that huge storehouse of power and intuition that is available for the asking.

While I believe everyone has an innate ability to reach these higher realms to open oneself up to this form of inner guidance and inspiration, it does take honesty, willpower, perseverance and an uncompromising commitment.

Channeling can happen in many forms such as writing music, art, listening to an inner voice, and direct voice channeling. Once this opening to the inner world has been blazed the fog disappears and life is seen clearer and brighter.

When you learn to trust your inner voices and you follow the guidance from your higher self and your guides, great changes will occur in your life. One question is always asked by one before they begin to open to channel, I will include it here.

Q : If one wanted to open themselves up to channel and to become channels, how would they protect themselves from less positive, less life-affirming entities?

A: Before you begin to open yourself up, ask that the highest vibration or good be brought forth through you. Visualize or imagine a bright white light of love surrounding you through which only the highest vibration may penetrate. Meditate before you begin the channel to prepare yourself.

What channeling will not do for you:

Channeling will not solve all your problems, it will change you in ways that will help you change yourself. You will have to take charge of your life but the motivation to change will be there. High level guides will not tell you what to do or take over your body, nor will they control you. Channeling will not make people love you more but will make you love yourself more.

What Channeling will do for you:

Creativity is greatly enhance Guides will help you grow spiritually and gain personal power. People feel more stable, more grounded and in charge of their lives when they channel. Channeling helps you discover your life purpose.

They sometimes make a connection with you in your dreams. When you have the desire and intent to have one just ask for one and you will get one.

Dreams are the most exciting and intriguing part of our day-to-day life. We all see dreams every night. But very rarely, it so happens that we are able to remember them vividly after we wake up. The subject of our dream, place, and issue related get completely lost from our memory as soon as we wake up. Yet, all of us like seeing dreams when we fall asleep.

A famous philosopher and psychologist who go by the name of Sigmund Freud did a great deal of research work on the concepts of dreams and their intimate connection with our spiritual and mental well being.

He described dreams as a state where our dreams provide us with an opportunity to detach ourselves from all the daily chores external stimuli. Freud’s studies mainly revolved around focusing on our internal emotions. He assessed the importance of interpreting our dreams so that we could know about our inner self and thought process.

Dreams allow a person to experience emotions, places and situations, which are not possible in the reality. He even justified the recurrence of some dreams, which are essentially evil, and of haunting nature. Freud reasoned the frequent occurrence of these dreams which are always present in our subconscious mind but these negative emotions are suppressed by an individual and do not surface themselves in our day to day life. But if a person abruptly wakes up after experiencing these emotions in his dreams, it forces him to reconsider and assess his inner emotions. This prevents the person from harboring any more fears, negative feelings or emotions. It also makes the person face his fears boldly rather than trying to evade them.

All of us need to have a clear understanding of our goal and ambition in life. No matter how hard an individual may try, he is not able to determine the course of his life. At such moments, dreams often act as our saviors. Detailed research reveals that several people affirmed the occurrence of signal dreams, which guided them and showed viable solutions to various issues, which were troubling them in their conscious state.

Some people do not believe in the concept of dreams or the amount of impact that they can have on a person’s life. Such people generally are afraid to face themselves and have no sense of self-awareness. Even though they see dreams, but refuse to acknowledge them as a result of the observations of our subconscious mind.

According to Freud, each dream implies two meanings- the manifested and the latent. The manifested meaning is generally a superficial one, which may seem pretty vague and useless. Most of the people generally prefer to interpret a dream based on the superficial meaning and shun it as a frivolous one. But they fail to interpret its hidden meaning, which may actually serve to solve their problems.

Interpretation of this hidden meaning of the dream can be pretty easy by following some steps, such as our dreams are composed of two or more of our issues with only the place of occurrence being displaced.

It has also been observed that people who do not experience any kind of dreams in their childhood or adolescence grow up to be more frustrated, agitated and easily give up when faced by any challenging task.

Just What If... What Then?

Just what if everything we knew about the universe and the world around us was completely wrong, what then?

Just what if God wanted our faith to be unparalleled, radically unequaled and unable to be proven or disproved by so-called modern scientific evidence, what then?

Just what if we paused for a moment and asked the question that is on all of our minds, ‘why does science feel it necessary to disprove faith? Faith doesn’t wish to disprove science, what then?

Just what if science was able to prove the religious leaning view of some sort of ‘connectivity’ between humans? In other words, we humans are more connected to each other than we are separate, what then?

Just what if we were so bold and unscientific as to offer our reason and proof of the truth of ‘connectivity’ by illuminating the fact that whenever humans attempt to hurt another, they most times end up hurting themselves more, what then?

Just what if we all were granted a ‘God’s view’ or a ‘moment of clarity’ and we all came to the understanding that everything we do and/or will do while in this life was just a series of trials and tests to mold and prepare us for the next world, what then?

Just what if for a moment God stopped time and revealed Himself plainly to us and said, ‘I don’t care if you continue to blame Me for all of this mess. You may continue if you wish, however, understand that it won’t help get you to where you want to be’. If so, what then?

Just what if we could ask God just one question that He would answer plainly to us; could God answer it easily by saying, you didn’t receive because you didn’t ask or you didn’t ask right’, if so what then?

Just what if all the small details didn’t matter one way or the other to God; what if He only wanted us to acknowledge Him and to ask of Him, ‘fatherly assistance’ for whatever we were currently experiencing, what then?

Just what if God reminded us to maintain the fragile balance of prayer for ourselves and prayers for others. God wants us praying more for others in need than for ourselves? Why? Because He already knows what we need and has already promised to provide for us. However, this doesn’t mean that we should not pray for ourselves, simply pray more for others. If we did, what then?

Just what if it became known to us, that by doubting the meanings and promises of God, it was considered as affront to calling our parents liars, to their face, what then?

Just what if in the blink of an eye, it became common knowledge that the reason some people disbelieve God and His rules is because their doubt becomes a pass or an excuse to do as they wish. What then?

Just what if we discovered that our disbelief, skepticism and irreverent thoughts on prayer, as well as our doubting of God, was found to actually block the flow of essential miracles and ‘Godly intervention’ for us and the entire world, what then?

Just what if we spent a whole lifetime wanting more and more to ad nauseam, as well as ‘needing’ things to be, just a certain way before we could begin doing what God wanted us to do, what then?

Just what if there was an abundance of gratuitous pain and suffering, all around us? What if we didn’t stop to pray about it or even take a moment to console another? What if we didn’t because we were more focused on convincing God that we needed a ‘second home’ at the lake for weekends or for some other ‘more’, what then?

Just what if we all were too busy counting the things we didn’t have in relation to others rather than thanking God for all the blessings He has already granted unto us, what then?

Just what if all that happens to us and to the world around us, is nothing more than a big game of Divine hide and go seek with sets of tests and trials to mold and prepare us for what is to comes next? What then?

Just what if we were to completely apperceive that God has a calculated process to bring all things around to the way He wants and we needn’t worry about the process because that just isn’t our job, then what?

Just what if we were to understand that our God is the kind of God that gave us all the rules and when we didn’t follow the rules He sent His Son to pay the penalty for our rule breaking, what then?

Just what if we conscientiously made the decision to stop listening to the philosophy and ‘modern science’ of this world and focused more on God’s words, meanings and promises, what then?

Just what if one day we found it easy to all say, ‘not my will, but your will be done Lord,’ and truly meant it, what then?

Just what if all at once mankind would come to remember that it is how we forgive another as to how God is to forgive us, what then?

Just what if I was so emboldened as to purposely catechize life from diametrical and diverging ‘what ifs’? No need to ever be offended by the results or by ‘it’; for ‘it’ is the subjunctive mood I am sporting that leads to such revealing, what then’s?

A Servant's Heart

Do you have a servant’s heart? Has God blessed you with the insight to see the needs of others and reach out in compassion and understanding even when they, themselves, cannot reach out and ask for help?

Four years ago I had the rare opportunity to not only reach out and touch a few lives, but to be blessed in return. I say rare because in my own experience, it’s either been one or the other - not both at the same time. I used to believe that it was because giving and receiving at the same time would take the focus off what God intended for us, or the other party, to learn.

But that year, as I was fulfilling God’s desire for me to serve others, God sent others to act as servants to my family. And you know what I learned? Humbling yourself to receive God’s blessings is just as important as humbling yourself to give God’s blessings to others. Whether you give or you receive, you must first humble yourself before the Lord and let His will take precedence over your circumstances, your emotions, your finances, and your actions.

It doesn’t matter what you own, how much money you have in the bank, how talented or educated you are, or how many people you know. If God calls you to have a servant’s heart, He will make a way for you to accomplish what He has put on your heart to do.

A servant’s heart has more to do with your relationship with God than it has to do with your desire to be recognized for your good deeds. Having a servant’s heart is one the most beautiful expressions of love I know because it’s showing your love to another human being by simply being who God intended you to be. It’s about seeing a need and fulfilling it without any strings attached. It’s about making yourself uncomfortable so that someone else can be comfortable. It’s about showing Christ’s love through your actions and your words. And finally, it’s about touching the lives of those around you with such a gentle kindness that your act will be remembered for years to come.

You might think a check to pay a bill will solve someone’s problem but that might not be what God wants you to do. God may want you to teach that person how to budget his income so that he’s not in the same boat next month. You might think a prayer is all that is needed but God might want you spend some quality time with that person. You might think a having a garage sale to remove clutter from someone’s life will help her get more focused but God might want you to help that person reorganize her life by ministering to her soul while you weed through her material possessions. It’s all a matter of God-perspective, not man-perspective.

Taking the time to listen to what God wants you to do, humbling yourself to do what He has called you to do, and then faithfully following His orders regardless of how uncomfortable it makes you is truly what a servant’s heart is all about. It’s selfless love at its best and God couldn’t ask for a better gift or testimony of your relationship with Him. So pay attention when God calls you to serve others. Listen with your heart, not your mind and ask yourself, “Is this what God wants me to do or is this what I think should be done?”

When you spend more than you have, you are exhibiting a lack mentality. Visualizing yourself financially heatlhy will surprise you how you will start to get incredibly creative to attract more money. Feel the sense of being abundantly blessed.

3. Attract and keep love

One of the greatest benefits of visualization is that you feel a sense of being powerful. You can create what you desire. Many people have wondered if unscrupulous people can use visualization to create evil, for example attract a person that "belongs" to someone else. The fact is, you can. That is, if that other person is not strongly rooted in their relationship. The universe however will give you what your energy level truly matches. There is no fooling around. So if you wanted one thing and got another, examine how you really, truly felt about your desire. Did you have guilt? Worry? Did you secretly dread having that desire come to fruition?

4. Attract your dream man/woman

What does your dream partner look like? It has been said that "we attract who we are". In other words, who we end up with will match our thoughts and our feelings. Sometimes this is tough to swallow, but the same people who complain about it are the same ones who wonder why they are not happy with who they have attracted. Yet the very idea of choosing to remain unconcious does nothing but bring more of the same unwanted results.

Have a clear mental image of your desired partner. Use the different visualization techniques to imprint it in your mind. Always remember, hardly will you attract a partner that does not match up to your vibrational energy of your thoughts and feelings.

5. Get your desired body weight

Writing a movie script of the day you wake up at your desired body weight is a great visualization technique for this one.

6. Attract the right job

Never be stuck doing work that does not inspire you, pay you what you know you are worth, or one that puts unnecessary stress on your body. Remember, stress is a major cause of increased ill health. Therefore, see yourself in your perfect job. There are always people who will enjoy doing what you dislike. So visualize yourself daily in your desired perfect job.

7. Manifest your material desires

For some reason, many people seem ashamed to publicly admit that they desire material stuff. There is nothing wrong with wanting to attract a big beautiful home, if that is what you truly desire. The key thing is to make sure you are free of guilt and judgement. Always remember that material things are a representation of universal abundance. It is up to you to decide when a desired thing does not serve your higher purpose.

8. Behavioral change, such as to stop smoking

You can use a vision board as a visualization tool very effectively to help you stop undesirable behaviour, such as smoking, chewing your nails etc. What seems to work best though is putting up pictures that represent a positive outcome, rather than a "stop doing this" message. For example, a picture of fresh clean environment denoting clean air would be great.

Bottom line, benefits of visualization far outweigh doing nothing. A key thing to remember when visualizing:
Always be aware of how you feel. This is key. It is also the reason many people get frustrated and claim it doesn't work. How you feel will determine your results. If you aren't feeling good (and all the feelings that can be closely associated with good), then find something to visualize that will cause you to feel good.

Life is a mystery

Laws of physics which dominate the real world are a mystery to most people. Things perceived are things conceived
While there are many things perceived to be mysterious to the mind, there is nothing mysteries in revelations of truth but undiscovered even truth becomes a mystery. Only when truth is illuminated and understood, does it become a guiding light to the soul. Truths understood, are the building blocks upon which all of humanity stands.

Who uncovers the validly in truth but people of vision, mystics, philosophers, people who dare to seek out and dispel the laden mysteries of darkness. Even in this modern world, our civilization continues on the discoveries of great visionaries. They envisioned the future, taught Spiritual Revaluations and Laws of truth that continue to govern mankind and the Universe.

A Universal Law revealed
These same great people revealed a Universal Law that flowed from the Heavens and affected all of mankind. Who were these men of old who first realized that Spirit Alone was their teacher and they were without question, instructed by God? Only Spirit could have reviled such great tidings as such taught to these men. What part of their mentality could arrived at such profound conclusions and not conclude God alone governs all?

In later times, great religious leaders revealed to civilization their degree of spiritual visions as they caught passing glimpses into an Ultimate Reality. No doubt, their wisdom must have come from Spirit for no living soul could have revealed to them what they knew and quite possibility, even they themselves didn’t realize why they knew.

It is all for the pleasure of God
And God having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself subjects us to His purpose. We are not only subjects of the laws of God we are, transpiring law. Because mankind has dominance over all things on earth we, impose law onto nature.

Turning toward nature
In this setting, mankind has turned toward nature and compelled it to surrender its forces and powers. As mankind discovered and harnessed such laws as electric energy he devised huge turbines to catch and control the power in water, steam and wind to drive them. He extracted petrol from the earth to power automobiles to make life easer, in the end mankind made nature obey his will and forgot from where it came. Man never invented, he discovered the force in machines that would do his labor and he drove them to built long ribbons of highway for accommodating his automobile. As mankind plunges forward, constructing miraculous civilizations he also discovers destructive forces in nature for which he manipulates so he may force his will upon others. But in all of man’s grandeur, in all his accomplishments, he has not been able to conquered his own soul. He has become blinded and in his darkened state he has lost his way and now he revels in his own misconception of the meaning of life.

Even as mankind searches for satisfaction through material objects of his own self-interested he exposes spiritual relevance in his experience. He also reveals many timeless truths that reveals in us a Supreme truth and Living Presence in which we cannot deny.

The significance of life
For many people the search for extracting an importance from Life is based on suspicions and misconceptions that fear controls the inner man. The fact is, every philosophy, religion and individual belief embraces a truth that fear is no more than a misconception and has no basis in reality. Fear is a warning of pending possibilities not a reasoning for avoidance. It is in hope that fear diminishes in the presence of possibilities and opportunities. The mind grasps hope as its foundation for being; hope in the unseen things of the future and its possibilities of discovery.

True men of vision reach beyond human thought to sense the true purpose of God. One might ask, "How do we know if God has a purpose for us?" Consistency in confession reveals that over the years prophets have detected and taught the same truths. The uniformity in these revelations has brought a since of knowing when truth prevails.

Is there only one Truth
It is true that all revelations result in an awareness that there is but one ultimate reality. Could this Ultimate Reality be here now? If only we could detect it, through our limited senses. But alas we can not. The creator of the Universe chooses to be obscure in order to invoke faith in mankind. But wait, if I could only see, talk to, hear God I would truly believe. Ahaa, with exposure there would be no faith for it is faith that drives man to seek answers.

Do not follow evil
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. And so it goes, one must believe in and seek God before experiencing His presence. Evil is mans due and has no place in the presence of God. Those who believe in a God who consciously works in and through man, surrenders to His omnipresence.

They understand that the Kingdom of God is their condition and they are engulfed in His being as a fish is in water; it only needs to be recognized. As the Spirit of God is within so is the soul of man.

A New and Unique Philosophy?

I must admit that for whatever reason, this week has me feeling as if I am in a ‘funk’. I am not sure if it is all the dopey way people have been acting and/or thinking lately, or if I’m just coming down with something. Either way, and none the less I am in a ‘funk’, therefore, please pardon if I offend, that is not my intention now or ever. Also, please pardon the length of this article; it is required to demonstrate completely what I wish to highlight.

I found it rather interesting this week that all the major media services have begun to report that gasoline prices are raising even higher, each and every day and this may signal a lot of trouble and problems to come. We didn’t really need them to tell us this however, while they continue to report the obvious; you and I can detect and learn of a ‘new’ underlying philosophy hiding under and spreading across the globe along with the increasing of oil prices.

You may not have heard of it, nor had the misfortunate to come into contact with the ‘new philosophy’, so I will attempt to explain it to you. Now I could just blurt it out, however, you would not understand me completely and therefore you would move on to other more interesting, and easier to understand articles to read. Therefore I have broken down this ‘new philosophy’ into how four different groups of people with each of their unique versions or spin of this ‘new philosophy’ are infecting the overall ‘thought of the moment’.

A good portion of adults have begun to notice that they are getting larger and larger in size. When they weight themselves they can plainly see that they are now a member of the over-weight club. This causes a great deal of emotional distress and uncomfortableness along with the discomfort of tight fitting clothes. [Please don’t misunderstand me, not everyone that is overweight has their version of the following ‘new philosophy’. Also, not every overweight person is overweight because of their actions or inaction.] This group’s version of the ‘new philosophy’ goes something like this while in conversion with experts on overweight issues; they say ‘give me some ‘diet’ that allows me to remain in my usual inactive lifestyle, while eating the same if not a bit more of my favorite foods and snacks’. This group’s version is simply, ‘I want a miracle cure now, however, not a real solution that involves any effort and/or moderation and personal responsibility’. Again, not all overweight people believe this, however, the group that do, is growing larger everyday in more than just dress sizes. Just as a bad attitude has the effect of a spreading wildfire, so does this dopey way of thinking.

The next group is College graduates. A large portion, no not all again, has begun to exercise their version of the ‘new philosophy’ and it goes like this. ‘Don't even think of offering me a job with an average starting wage, don’t expect me to grow in understanding as well as in pay grade with greater knowledge and as I learn the ropes of this new position’! Just pay me like the CEO and if that’s not possible I understand. However, you will then just have to give me the winning numbers for next week’s lottery drawing’! Simply put, ‘I have learned everything there is to know, I am a know-it-all and will not stand to be educated by anyone any further. I will not start out a career and work myself up the ‘corporate ladder’ and pay scale, I will not ‘sacrifice’ any of my nights or weekends while in training because I don’t do training and lastly, just pay me like the top person of this company, and pay me right now’! Again, not all however a rather large percentage does hold to this version of the ‘new philosophy’. This is also the very same group that has learned to dismiss any bad behavior with examples of other-worst bad behavior.

The next group is the non-graduated and other various ‘up and coming’ levels of educated as well as those who drop out before completing various requirements. This group’s version of the ‘new philosophy’ is: ‘let’s come up with the most outlandish, over-the-top, immoral, hurtful, ridiculous activity that we can film with our video camera or phone camera! Then we will upload it to Youtube and we will get rich and famous all at the same time and never have to work another day in our lives’. Simply put, ‘give me money, fame, and even more fortune for my utterly unworthy contribution and reckless behavior under the guise of ‘humor’. After all this is the time of reality shows and instant fame and fortune, and so ‘get out of my way, I want mine and I want it now’!

This group has hit upon one very valid point however. We as a people have learned to forget what a person did to get to the position of fame and fortune they now hold. It’s as if once you get it, by any means possible, the method and means is quickly forgotten and you gain unearned, undeserved respect along with your new found fortune. This has got to stop! We need to hold people to creditability standards once again. Simple fame does not or should not ever equal respect.

The last and the most destructive group is the pseudo-religious camp. This group goes around doing actions that THEY one, say and ADMIT are totally offensive to God. Two, these actions are considered and understood to be a sin in God’s eyes. This group however, instead of having any true contrition and guilt of wrong doing, and instead of taking any action to prevent the re-occurrence of the said action, they boldfacely display their wrong actions until approached by another wishing to assist them to see the ‘error of their ways’. Then this group protests loudly and responds, ’you aren’t suppose to judge me, and just because you have pointed out my fault you are a negative person and even a threat to me and to my way of life’. Simply put, they hold to the misconceived tarradiddle dribble that, ‘God loves me even if I continue to do wrong actions under my control, over and over again even if I am not one bit contrite’. The ‘icing on the cake’ is that they PLAN to do the wrong doing or to continue in the action again and again with no thought of changing or stopping’! They continue to say, ‘God doesn’t punish wrongdoers, He doesn’t wish for anyone in error to come into the light of contrition and put a stop to their wrong doing’. ‘No, He doesn’t detest the action or wrong doing. ‘It is all a simple matter of personal perspective’! What a bunch of slobbering dribble!

Lately, anyone who would point out this group’s version of the ‘new philosophy’ as wrong and an action to resist and stop at once are called a threat, a bad, negative and hateful person. Even some of the new ‘hate crime’ laws could now apply to anyone pointing out the ‘error of this group’s ways’!

This group isn’t made up of just one type or another but rather a wide and varying type of people and behavior. The whole misconceived error that God loves a person no matter whatever they do is the root of the trouble. No, God only loves those who come before Him with complete contrition and repentance with the fore-thought of changing the behavior in question. With full contrition and repentance (which infers change or the ceasing of doing the wrong) God’s is then full of mercy! If one goes around taunting God with their actions and this misconceived error, they will find that they are on the fast track to where they do not want to be and to total separation from God and His people! Separation does not infer any hateful fore-thought or intention to separate. Do not allow this religious version of the ‘new philosophy’ to infect your children; for it will only equal more dissatisfaction and a life of pain and separation. Irregardless of religious denomination, the truth and not the misconceived lie applies to all religions and religious denominations and even to those who live their lives the way they think ‘A God’ would want, outside of any formed church or religious denomination or group! Lastly, do not make the fatal error, or allow another to dismiss your words by quickly claiming, that the above discussion of the truth falls anywhere under the ‘work-righteousness’ umbrella. I am not inferring anyone to ‘work away’ any sin or making oneself more desirable to God by actions or any inaction outside of faith and contrition. No, only with full contrition and repentance of ALL wrong doing are we gathered up and embraced by God.

After examining the four groups and their various versions of the ‘new philosophy’ can you now understand how I found it interesting and disturbing that this was quickly becoming the new ‘normal’. ‘The new philosophy’ says that it is okay to want a change of something, however, do not provide any effort or action to change a situation to a more pleasing disposition.

Now I am sure you are also wondering how all this has any connection the current problem of rising gasoline prices. As I have stated before, the very same ‘new philosophy’ has even crept into the current ‘thought’ over the new gas price war, allow me to explain.

In the four groups detailed, the over all theme was, a want a change, however, I won’t do anything or offer anything to bring about the change. We all want much lower gas prices and we all want it now. However, we don’t want anyone to attempt to correct the problem by creating more oil and in turn more fuel, increasing the supply and driving the prices down in our supply and demand economy. ‘Nope! Don’t drill here, there or anywhere close to my neighborhood. Don’t even think of drilling over there because of some ‘protected’ insect or fish or maybe some other lower level life form resides there. Just lower the gas prices-now’!

When things are as bad as they are now, rightful and conscience people make the choice to do the ‘worst of two evils’. Some lower, yet valuable, life form can not and should not be held to be ‘more valuable’ than our way of life and the greater good of our Country and the good it does for mankind over all!

I want you to understand this ‘new philosophy’ is as dangerous as it is ridiculous. We must understand that our country runs on transportation, i.e. various forms of gasoline and the interrelatedness and/or contingent upon what it does for our economy. Our children could have to learn to do without a lot of fresh produce as well as without as much food period! Why? Because their parents, the store owners, the food suppliers, the food distributors, food growers, the food pickers all need gasoline and/or are affected when our economy uses and provides more or less gasoline!

The most dangerous possibility of the current problem is that our military has the job to protect us and our country. If they don’t have enough gasoline (diesel) they can’t protect us. Planes, tanks, armored vehicles, troop carriers and so on, all need various forms of gasoline. If another country decided to invade the US from the south, our military may not have the resources to protect and to chase back the invaders. Our military may be forced to draw back to ‘a center point’ to re-group resources, and allow a few southern states to go in an attempt to be able to save the bulk of the US! This is a scary possibility.

Now, just as I am no theologian with any formal religious instruction, I have no position of authority with our Government and I say what I do without any insider information from the Government or our military. Anyone who has studied the ways and means of the past two-hundred years of history and military action can infer the problems I highlighted above. It is a real possibility and threat to the overall way we live! This means that it is a threat to our country-the United States of America! It’s not clever rhetoric and magniloquence, it’s a fact. Everything in our supply and demand economy is inter-related and co-dependent upon each other. Any significant change or decrease in one area causes a decrease and change across the board. Something as seemingly indifferent as a large percentage of campers not paying the Federal camping fees or park fees, means a lot less money in one part of the Federal government and it will effect the over all Federal government as well as various local economies!

When one sits and ponders, the effects of our current fuel shortage, irregardless of whether it is a ‘true shortage’ of actual production or simply a shortage due to price and expense, it is very chilling and could be the reason why you and I will be feeling as if we are in a ‘funk’ for quite some time! It truly is scary and nothing to laugh or smile about.

Now, is this dopey ‘new philosophy’ really all that new? Could it be simple old-fashioned laziness with a new coat of paint along with a sense of individual entitlement? The results of the ‘new philosophy’ could be the results of all of us having to learn to do without and to do everything in a very different way, very soon. Remember from past problems and history we have learned that how we as a people respond and how we either take or don’t take action determines how our economy and our way of life will be tomorrow. We are Americans, the proudest people on this planet for a reason. We have created more, while the rest do without more!

Nothing that is worth anything to anyone is ever free or easy, and it doesn’t come without hard work and serious sacrifice. Please recognize the roots of this destructive and counter-productive ‘new philosophy’ and dopey thinking. Wherever it pokes its head, call it what it is and identify it for those who missed it! Please be bold enough to set the record straight. Even if you are singled out as a hateful person, still attempt to set the record straight. Why? Because when we do we are insuring our tomorrow to the way we all want it to continue to be. Then just maybe soon, and without a great deal or much further personal sacrifice, we all will be so very fortunate once again because of smart minds, strong backs and a God who smiles down on us with favor.

Now your soul is exposed, naked, hungering for a closer relationship with a spiritual presence within a vast and cold Universe. This idea, this longing, is so foreign to your surface consciousness, yet it holds a familiarity which you have entertained throughout your life. You are now faced with your true self whose existence you always took for granted. In the back of your mind you have always known it was there when it surfaced in its scattered expressions. “Art thou but a man as any other man or at thou a spirit drifting in outer-space?”

This climb up the mountain of self-knowledge, said the Victorine mystics, is the necessary prelude to all illumination. Only at its summit do we discover, as Dante did, the beginning of the pathway to Reality.

Is A lonely journey
There is a journey so obscure yet so profound that it is examine by many but understood by few. It is a journey of self examination where man and spirit becomes one in truth It is pursued by few, for it is a lonely and painstaking journey, a strenuous test of courage and strength. In our world, most people prefer to live in darkness, comfortable in their ignorance, safe from inspection. They hide behind their more obvious characteristics which is only a covering of the naked truth. Most people buckle and fail in their attempt to find complete self-knowledge for there are only a privileged few are strong enough to stand up to its reality. Yes, only a few can bear to delve into their inner self and contemplate what they find there. They risk standing face to face with a vision so strange and terrible it challenges sanity and brings awe and remorse in its awakening.

Venture into spirit
The life of those who dare to venture into the spirit are changed for ever for there is a conversion of the deepest and most drastic sense where you are forced into a new reality. Your perception towards yourself becomes a truth of your existence. When you truly knew yourself – a vision appears of your weaknesses, constantly at the mercy of a merciless environment. True motives are exposed, inspected and measured against eternal values. Hidden unknown self-indulgences surface as irrational loves and hates of a life born of compliancy. You must take action now to redefine your total self, and become, perhaps for the first time, a practical being.

Take the challenge
For those who accept the challenge comes a point in time where they realize that they have done all they can in their pursuit and then all once it becomes clear, at last, they have uncovered their own direction. But it is you who seeks and is now in touch with a different, deeper being containing a ceaseless spark of energy. Here your passion becomes energized and becomes the agent of all your links with Reality. You have been told and read about its possibilities and now you meet it with full force and you no longer hesitate because you know for a fact that it is a power beyond comprehension.

My God! what next? What possibilities await a soul stepping from the darkness? How do you go about reinventing yourself? What future do you have? Changes are in store? Adjustments to be made? Most of all, will this self-disclosure involve those around you?

To find inner spirit
You will notice, in time, as you become familiar with your new self, your state of mind is improved, colors are crisper, sounds sharper, and the sweet taste of success is on your tongue. With this new heightened recollection comes a consciousness which unfolds into an attitude which demands that you comply. This new attitude conflicts sharply with the old you and its consciousness and attitude which you have embraced as appropriate in the past. Now this old attitude appears childish, unworthy, and by all definitions, absurd.

Trouble lies ahead
But wait, by taking this first conscious step to become engaged in a new reality you are immediately brought head on into an alarming realization of disharmony so surreal it leaves you with a feeling of uneasiness, and confusion by its certainty. You will never again need anyone to point out a need to seek your inner self or to pursue materialistic things. Now you have only to focus upon the game of life and challenge of success.

There are times when you think you can not endure but the spirit is strong and this new you with its new attitude persists. All the while an internal force becomes stronger and a new power grows. Over and over you slide back to your old self then it becomes obvious, something more than a simple knowing is needed. How are you going to adjust to this new perception of the world? After all this is an old game in which you have played all your life and you have become conditioned into thinking bad habits were normal actions.

Become aware of self.
You must develop an awareness, a newness of certain qualities and perceptions as you leave the old you behind. Now, suddenly you are in a new game which demands a freshness in actions and an alertness different then you have ever experienced. Your thoughts are confused, your mental powers are stubborn and your mind refuses to respond.

You must become unmoved in your fight for spiritual truth because anything less will not suffice as you undertake this drastic metamorphosing of character which is needed to prepare your consciousness for participation in practicality.

Awake to a new self
Rise up, open your eyes to the truth of your inner self. It harbors no habits or desires, nothing but freedom from oppression in spiritual truth. You must awaken now to the fact there is disharmony between the world and your unchangeable spirit buried deep within. Feel your spirit slowly beginning to assert itself in your hours of meditation as it rises up toward the light and truth. You must come to a harmonization of spirit and world so you can declare a peace of mind and freedom of spirit. Defy worldly longings and old instincts that lay on the surface of the outer man because if you don’t there will be no peace and you will experience nothing but conflict throughout your life.

Why do people dream? This question is often pondered by inquisitive minds. Do people dream in similar ways? Why do people dream of adventures one day and experience nightmares the next?

There's differing views that attempt to answer the question “why do people dream?”

There are several scientific and mystical theories as to why people dream but the truth is we really don’t know for sure.

A dictionary definition of dreams, and therefore a good starting point for an answer to the question why do people dream, states that dreaming is "a series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep". Take note though that dreams are not always involuntary and I will return to this point a little later!

There is a single, intelligent Consciousness that pervades the entire Universe - the Universal Mind. It is all knowing, all powerful, all creative and always present. Any which way you cut it, you come to this one unavoidable conclusion: there is but One Consciousness of which your consciousness must be a part and "a part", as Charles Haanel said, "must be the same in kind and quality as the whole, the only difference being one of degree".

The nature of the Universal Mind is Omniscience (all knowing), Omnipotence (all powerful), Omnificence (all creative) and Omnipresence (always present). Know that this too is your nature. You have access to all knowledge, known and unknown; you have access to an infinite power for which nothing is impossible; you have access to the limitless creativity of the One Creator. All these attributes are present within you at all times in their potential form.

It is up to you to know and act upon your own nature. The inscription on the Ancient Greek Temple of Apollo at Delphi left no room for misunderstanding: "Know thyself and thou shalt know all the mysteries of the gods and the universe". It is through the power of your subconscious mind that you can learn to align yourself with the Omnipotence, Omniscience and Omnificence of the Universal Mind at all times.

Each and every one of us is a manifestation of this single Universal Consciousness. There is profound truth in the ancient teaching that we are all One. We are all connected - not only to each other but to all of Nature and to everything in the Universe. This is the Law of One. What you do to others, you do to yourself. The way you treat Nature, you in fact treat yourself. The separateness you "see" is an illusion of the ego. The true nature of reality is non-dualistic, meaning that while things may appear distinct, they are not separate.

You are able to create your ideal reality because you are already connected to everything you desire. Nothing and no one is separate from you. You can experience happiness, true love, perfect health, abundance, wealth and anything else you desire. All you have to do is bring yourself into vibrational harmony with the nature of your desires through the creative power of your thoughts. To become the master of your destiny, you must master your thoughts.

In a nutshell, there is a single Consciousness, the Universal Mind, which pervades the entire Universe. It is all knowing, all powerful, all creative and always present everywhere at the same time. In the dream, he took his son to the water's edge to give him a bath but remembered he left the soap. As he went back to retrieve the soap, he saw his son playing with the pebbles and throwing them into the water. When he finally got back with the soap, he found his son dead, lying face down on the water.

A little while after that, the man found himself camping with his son near the lake in his dream. He didn't remember his dream until he saw his son playing with the pebbles in the lake while he was about to go get soap. In a flash, he grabbed his son out of the water and took the boy with him. Records of such events can also be found in books if you're interested in reading more about these precognitive dreams.

Developing presence and poise should be everyone’s aim. Who would not want to have that inner sense of calm, to have that inner flame that never flickers regardless of circumstance?

Developing presence and poise does not come naturally to most of us. As the article title suggests, presence and poise must be developed. It is something which must be deliberately intended, practiced and applied. It comes with experience and continuous development. Like everything else, we must learn it and commit to it. Given the society we live in, it is hard to remain undisturbed, but not impossible. When we surely have the willingness to develop presence and poise then we can do it.

Before delving deep into the subject of developing presence and poise, it is worth defining by what we mean by poise and presence. Poise is essentially the ability to remain under control of our emotions, our behaviour regardless of circumstances. Things might happen to us, but if we are poised, then we will remain undisturbed. In other words, we have a degree of invincibility and how we behave or feel is by no means determined by what is happening externally. A person who is poised totally relies on their internal state for guidance.

Presence is also very interrelated to poise. In fact, the two are almost inseparable, hence developing poise is closely associated to developing presence. Presence is the ability to remain centred in the now. You forget the past, forget the future and just be here and now. Being in the moment. Poise cannot be attained when your mind wonders about the past and the future. Poise can only be attained when your thoughts remain in the present.

Perhaps many have got it in reverse?

While we cannot comprehend the magnificence of our soul as human beings, try imagining putting yourself in the shoes of your higher self - your soul - in the realm that we call Spirit.

Visualize the brilliance, unconditional love, powers and grandness of the angel that has your face on it. You have unlimited potentials. You are pure consciousness and light. You simply need to hold your thoughts on something and you would manifest it in an instant. Transcending time and space, you swim in the sea of consciousness and explore the infinite universes with the ease of a seasoned captain steering his ship.

You are a part of the God energy. You are in oneness with the God family that comprises of all other souls, energies and everything that exists and yet to be.

Somewhere in the now moment and in your exploration of the infinite universes and dimensions, you stumbled upon a most sacred and mysterious place called Earth and you paused for a moment, wondering what this most beautiful planet is all about.

You see billions of other souls walking on the surface, wandering on this blue planet in search of something, pretending that they are lost.

It has other rules like duality, birth, death, karma and reincarnation. It would feel very real and promise the most intense of emotions. Still wearing the shoes of your higher self, you are without fears and feel very brave in taking on this game. You also know it is but a short excursion given the eternity of your soul.

What are the objectives and rewards of this game? We could perhaps say it is about applying your knowledge, going through the experiences and collecting the wisdoms that will push the evolution of your soul and everything forward. We could also say that it is about experiencing contrasts so that you would know light from dark, love from fear and compassion from judgement. But there is really no whys. You do it simply because you could. We could say your curiosity got the better of you. You wanted to know yourself better by experiencing what you are not.

It also does not matter what choices are made. There are no wrong choices, only different consequences and experiences. Each consequence is simply another experience and they all add to your wisdom bank that in turn expands the magnificence of your soul and all that is.

In oneness, all the souls have the knowledge of all others. Being interconnected with the sea of consciousness, we know everything there is to know in all that is. However, not every soul has the direct experiences. You have watched your friends engaged in various activities on planet Earth and like watching movies, you can understand what they are doing as well.

However, there is no substitute for the direct experiences. For instance, you may know all the rules of football and how to play it. You may even know the various strategies. Nevertheless, you could not partake in the essence of the game itself and how it really feels like to be out there in the field - the joys of winning, pains of being tackled and the disappointments of losing.

As a new member of project Earth, you wonder excitingly about all the possibilities ahead. While waiting patiently in the queue for your turn, you started chatting with other souls.

You learn that one soul was a mother in an incarnation and she reminisces how beautiful her children were and the immense satisfaction she had from seeing them grow up. Another soul behind you shares with you the passion she felt in being a part of a symphony orchestra and you can only imagine the splendors of the concerts she had played in. Another soul recounts the warmth and gratitude he felt when another soul gave him food and shelter during a disaster. This time round, he is going to be wealthy and he would repay kindness to that soul.

In this game, you have guides - experienced and graduated players - to assist you in case you get very lost in the complex journey. Together with them, you plot various scenarios of your incarnation and choose your gender, birthplace, race, parents, friends, life partner, children and many other aspects.

As you make plans to meet various souls who will play different roles in your life, you mull over the various ways you could meet and also promise to forgive each other if the game gets too difficult.

Once in a while, a soul will hesitate in playing a difficult role that could possibly hurt or harm you. "It's too much! I can't do this." They protested. Fearlessly, you reassure them that they are loved dearly and you need them to play the villains in order to help you learn. Out of unconditional love, they finally agree to these challenging tasks and you bid your temporary farewells.

After some last minute plannings, it is time to say goodbye and put on the veil. After adding layers of dross-like energies to your pure light body, you buckle up your earth space suit, step forward and signal that you are ready.

Then with an extremely strong magnetic pull, you find yourself drawn towards the gravity of planet Earth in a flash.

Total silence... Total darkness... Amnesia has already set in...

"Who am I and where am I?"

You could barely open your baby eyes as you catch a glimpse of several strange faces.

One day, after many trials and tribulations, you will once again rediscover your identity. You would learn that you are already divine, a master and perfect as you are. You are the human expression of the divine energy. And this journey through time and space known as life is your spiritual journey, your pilgrimage. Every moment of it is treasured as a unique and useful experience. Every choice adds to the definition of who you want to be and the wisdom gained from this spiritual journey priceless and forever a part of you.

There is no destination. We could say we are returning to home if we really want to put a destination to this journey. Home has always been around and we are but on a brief excursion to planet Earth. The journey is really all it matters here.

So perhaps, my friends, could this be our real spiritual journey? And if so, every one of us is already embarking on it regardless if we are aware.

What Are Your Intentions of a Decision?

Recently, a theme keeps coming back to me: What are Your Intentions?

Many metaphysics teachers have taught that there is nothing right or wrong to our higher selves. Our souls crave for all experiences and there is no judgement in whatever decisions we make. For example, a friend recently asked me which job offer he should take up. I asked him to feel which job he is more inclined to take up. Which one feels better to him. But the point here is, no matter which job he takes up in the end, it is just a different kind of experience. If he becomes a salesman, he will experience a life that requires him to travel quite a bit, meeting many people. If he takes up a desk-bound job, then his life will probably revolve around the office and getting to know his colleagues much better. One could be less desirable but nonetheless still an experience for the soul. No experience is wasted. You could even say that a "bad" choice helps you make a better one next time and that seemingly "bad" choice is useful too.

As human beings, one of the greatest gifts given to us is probably our free will. Yet, with this great gift comes great responsibility. We are "forced" to make decisions at all times. Important or trivial. Should I get married or break up? Do I accept the invitation to go to a party or do I stay at home for the weekend? Do I stand up and move somewhere or do I continue to sit on the chair? Even the choice to do nothing is still a decision. Besides, if you do not want to make a decision, you simply made a decision to follow others. That is still a choice by itself. We are all learning to be Creator-Gods and if one can imagine, how many choices a God needs to make.

Since we have to make decisions all the time, how then do we make one? Is there a guide or method to help us make decisions? Personally, I feel that it is all about our intentions behind the decision that matters.

Take this magazine for example. When Maitreya suggested through Margaret McElroy for us to create an online magazine, why did Lee and I decide to go ahead and do it? What is our intention? Is it because we are afraid that we will be reprimanded by "higher forces" in the spiritual realm if we do not follow instructions? Is it because we are worried that our souls will regret not doing it when we review our lives? Is it because we want to save the world? Is it because we thought we found the answer to life and we want to impose this on others? The answer is no. I cannot speak for Lee here but my personal intention is simply to spread the love and empower people to become the person she or he wants to be by lighting up their paths and showing them their options. We put up content that we enjoy ourselves and that which feels right and then we publish and share them with you so that you can then decide for yourself what is good for you.

That is my intention and I feel strongly that Lee shares the same thinking. Most people on conscious spiritual paths, I believe, will come to a point when they realise that they get their joy by being of service to others. It is a bit of a cliche to say this, but since we are all aspects of the One, we are really serving ourselves in the end.

Hence, I would like to share this with you. Think about your intentions the next time you have to make a choice (which is actually all the time). What is your intention?

Think about your romantic relationships. Before you make the phone call to your partner, ask yourself what is your intention? Are you just calling to find out where he is because you do not trust him? Or are you calling just to show that you think of him? To let him know that he is loved and thought of.

Think about saying something to someone. The person may not like what you say, so should you just keep your mouth shut? What is your intention here? Are you trying to impose your truths on others? Do you feel strongly that the other person should follow your idea or your way? Or are you simply trying to speak your own truth and give your own opinion in a quiet and gentle manner without any attachment to how the other person will use it?

Because if you have made the decisions with the intentions in alignment with your higher self, then you are much less likely to regret making the choice and it will usually (if not always) feel good.

Think about shopping. What is your intention? Do you really need that beautiful dress or shoe? You are already pretty if you make up your mind that you are. Not that owning a beautiful dress is "wrong", but what is your intention here. I would say buy it if you feel you are deserving and worthy. Or are you buying it because you are bored and getting a new dress seems like a good distraction? Do you really need that latest electronic gadget with those amazing features? Perhaps it will make your work more productive. Or is it because the gadget makes you feel better about yourself because the others don't have it yet.

Think about tithing. If you give because you want to help the organisation in its humanitarian projects or keep the financial energy flowing in your life, then do it. But if your intention is to bribe God or keep God happy or to avoid hell or because everyone else is doing it, then you ought to rethink about it.

Think about that holiday trip you are not so sure of going. What is your intention? Do you badly need a break to rejuvenate yourself? Do you need some time off your usual routine and do something that excites you and for yourself? If you choose not to make the trip, why? Is it because you are not so sure if the money is worth spending? What makes you think that you may have the time later when the money is there?

These are just some scenarios and there is really no right or wrong in any decisions. Neither am I suggesting that it is easy to make choices. I am suggesting that it is all about your intentions that matter. Why? Because if you have made the decisions with the intentions in alignment with your higher self, then you are much less likely to regret making the choice and it will usually (if not always) feel good. I also have a deep feeling that the universe, your soul and helpers will go all out to support you in your choices when the intention is in line with the desires of your soul. Your soul knows that it is divine, it is worthy and perfect as it is.

Well, I know that we would not regret creating this magazine. How about you in your choices?

Using the Power of the Present Moment to Change Limiting Beliefs

There's no time like the present! You’ve heard that before. Do you know how to live it? What does that mean?

Most of us live inside our heads. We are thinking about the past or dreaming about the future. Rarely do we take time to fully appreciate the present moment.

Stop and think about it. The present is all we have. The past is done and gone. The future is being written in the present. We spend our lives looking forward down the road to the destination. We only look up for a moment to see if we have “arrived”.

And you’ve heard this one before. Life is a journey, not a destination. Have you ever been on a long car trip and fully appreciated the scenery as you move from point a to point b? I’m always amazed at the wonderful things I see on a fifteen-hour trip from Ohio to New Hampshire.

Or are you the type of person who asks, “Are we there yet?”

Being full present will change your limiting beliefs. Here's how to utilize the present moment:

THE BREATH
We take breathing for granted. It’s something we “do” on autopilot. We seem to only notice it when we are “out of breath”. Consciously using your breath will revitalize you and stop the mind chatter.

Take a deep breath in. As you do this, notice how it feels. What does the air feel like as it moves through your nostrils? Is it cold? Is it warm? How do your lungs feel as they expand and fill? Notice any sensations you feel as you hold that breath in for a moment.

Slowly let the air out. How does it taste? How does it feel as it moves out your mouth? Completely immerse yourself in the sensations of breath.

A small voice in your head may start to sputter and complain that this is silly. It says that because for just a moment you quieted your mind. You’ve created a space between you and your mind chatter.

THE FIVE SENSES
Most of us live on autopilot, trusting our five senses for input on our surroundings. Our mind computes and interprets that data into pictures or words. We create an association with our data. What if you used your five senses to fully experience what you see, hear, taste, touch and smell without trying to identify it?

Outdoors
Sit or lay in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and a few deep breaths to relax. The next step is to use each sense, one at a time. For example let’s start with touch. Notice how the air feels on your skin. Is it cool? Is it warm? Does it tickle or fluff your hair. Fully enjoy the experience of it. Put your attention upon your ears. Listen with the right ear only. Next listen to the sounds coming in through your left ear. Now listen with both. As you hear the noises do not try to label them. Notice how they sound. It’s similar to picking out individual instruments in an orchestra! Open your eyes. Look as far as you can in the distance. Look up and all around you without labeling anything.

Indoors
Sit or lay in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax. Notice your body as a whole unit. Now ask yourself if you have hands. How do you know you have hands? Notice the sensations when you put your attention upon your hands. Move your attention to each area of your body, arms, shoulders, neck, head, torso, legs, thighs, etc. It doesn’t matter if you can’t feel each section. Once you’ve moved through each section of your body, try to feel the whole body at once.

STOP MULTI-TASKING
As a society we have been conditioned to multi-task. What we lose when we multi-task is our ability to focus completely on one thing. We are continually thinking about the next thing that has to be done and how to juggle that with something else needing our attention. Use your five senses to immerse yourself in one task at a time. Doing the dishes? Feel the suds on your skin. Play in the water. Notice the smell of dish soap. A normally mundane chore becomes a meditative and pleasant experience.

Even when you’re at work, you can tune in and immerse yourself in whatever it is you are doing. Stop and pay attention by utilizing the five senses.

The above suggestions can be done anytime and pretty much anywhere. They can be used as a set meditation time or used as a “check-in” during the day to quiet the chatter.

Our present moment is a precious gift and requires our attention to fully utilize its power. Accessing this power opens you up to new ideas, creative solutions to problems, changes limiting beliefs and gives you a sense of peace in a seemingly crazy world.

Is it a single place or are there a variety of places? If so, what are the factors that decide where a particular person will go to after death? In this article, we present the answer to the question on what happens to suicide cases after death. The answer is obtained through spiritual research done by seekers of the Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF) with highly developed sixth sense (ESP).

The places a person may go after death

When a person dies the physical body ceases to exist. However, the rest of his existence or consciousness continues. The person minus the physical body is known as the subtle body and it comprises of the mental, causal (intellect) and supracausal bodies (subtle ego).

The various planes of existence

There are 14 main planes of existence in the Universe. Seven of them are positive planes and seven are negative planes. The seven negative regions are commonly known as Hell. There are numerous sub-planes within these main planes of existence.
The human subtle body after death goes to one of the 13 planes of existence other than the Earth plane.

What happens to suicide cases after death?

There are two types of death with regards to its timing.
• Destined final death: This is the time of death no one can escape.

• Possible death: This is where a person can possibly die. Each person may undergo a possible death wherein one comes close to death but is saved due to his or her merits. In cases where a person is going through insurmountable crisis in his life or has severe personality disorders, he may think, in depression, of committing suicide. Ghosts (demons, devils, spirits, etc.) also fuel the depression of a suicidal person and sometimes are instrumental in pushing a person over the edge into committing suicide. However, suicide remains a willful act that happens when a person is going through a possible death phase as per their destiny.

The gift of life on the Earth plane is precious and is given to us primarily for spiritual growth. By committing suicide, we squander away this opportunity and become eligible for punishment. The consequences are that a person committing suicide goes to the Narak part of the 7th region of Hell for a period of 60,000 Earth years. It is a place that is without any light; something like solitary confinement in a prison. The extent of punishment/pain to be endured in the various regions of Hell regions and their associated Narak goes on increasing with the subsequent region of Hell. Also, the period of punishment to be endured in each Narak is in excess compared to the corresponding region of Hell. If we consider the punishment in first region of Hell as 100%, then the punishment in the corresponding first Narak region is 50% more, i.e. 150%. As there is nobody in that Narak region to advise about spiritual practice, the subtle body in this region remains in the darkness of spiritual ignorance.

Conclusion

• Committing suicide is a grave sin and punishment is extremely severe so it is advisable to realise the value of human birth and undertake spiritual practice.

• Once we go to the lower regions such as the Nether region or Hell, we stay there and experience severe unhappiness for centuries until we completely pay for our sins by suffering the intense punishments meted there and get a chance to be reborn on Earth.

• To do consistent spiritual practice on the Earth plane according to the 5 basic laws of spiritual practice is like swimming against the tide in the current era. However, it is also a guaranteed way of advancing to higher realms of existence after physical death.

I Am Alive And Well

Did you watch the show "Short Circuit?" It was about a robot created for the military to seek and destroy. Something happened to the robot; some circuits shorted out and it became aware of its existence; it became sentient. The robot which was the 5th robot is a series, gave itself a name and declared throughout the movie that "Number Five is Alive."

To discover that one is alive and to know it, is a unique feeling. It happens to us almost every day. Someone walks bye you and says Hi (Roy) and you feel something. You feel life; it is an indescribable feeling. Another walks bye and says "Roy I read your book;" it is recognition of being alive. They don't have to say whether they liked the book or not, just that they recognized you. They are saying Roy, "I recognize that you are alive" and any comment that may follow is of less importance.

You're in a crowd and someone yells out your name; your heart beats faster and you are filled with anticipation or trepidation. Someone may have recognized you and your spirit once again is reminded that it is connected to another part of itself. Life longs to be recognized. It is like the left arm searching for the right so that it may join again as one.

There is a wonderful story in the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books; it's called "A simple Gesture" and you can find it in the first book of the series. It is a story of how a small gesture of recognition that saved the life of a young school boy who was on his way home to kill himself.

A simple look or glance at someone can send a message of recognition to another and the message will be received; "you are alive and not alone," it is the handshake, the pat one the shoulder, the wink of recognition that stirs the spirit and reminds it of its journey.

Have you even stood with friends and they are busy talking to each other and they have left you out of their conversation? They gaze right through you as though you were not even there. Have you ever stood in a line and someone butts in front of you, and they may sorry, I didn't see you after you said something to them. How does it feel when you are there and no one sees you or hears you?

To ignore someone is the most hurtful thing you can do to anyone; your friend or enemy. It pisses them off and it hurts; it cuts right through to the spirit. Life cannot be ignored and will always find a way to be recognized; many times in almost equally hurtful ways.

This sadly enough happens in many long term relationships. Partners are so used to having each other around that they forget the other one is alive. It is a killer, and a very cruel and hurtful way of being buried alive. Many people will stay in abusive relationships just for the sake of being recognized as alive, no matter how bad the relationship is; at least the abusive partner knows the other one is alive.

This may sound sick to an unenlightened mind; however, it is what life wants. That is why you are here in this physical life. You are here to experience all aspects of a live being and experiencing everything physical. Because in truth there is only one life, not the individualized lives your ego knows; life tries to find itself in all its experiences. Everything is life, whether you call it animate, inanimate, and sentient or not; you will find life in all things. Life cannot deny itself. So when life meets itself it begins to know itself as one thing or the other.

"I AM" is life itself, anything that comes after that is the experience of life. Women often complain about their spouses not recognizing them. Many women have said that there is one thing they long to hear the most; it is the sound of their name. All the endearments or titles they have directed towards them every day cannot compare to the sound of someone calling their name. "I AM" is like that also. Its only desire is to look at you and recognize itself as looking back at itself. I am here and I am there. There is only me and you and we are the same life. Like being in a foreign land, and after an extended period of time, you would love for someone from home to come into your life and say your name. It's extraordinary that even someone you don't particularly like, will all of a sudden become a friend in a foreign place, and it is only because he has reaffirmed your existence and at a very basic and meaningful level of your being - your spirit.

As far fetched as this may sound, it has been the experience of most people. Next time someone says hello to you, waves to you, smiles or taps you on the shoulder, get in touch with your feelings for a second. Try and recognize what you are feeling in the moment; you will with practice be able to identify with the hidden message - "I am alive."

Some may say, well, I know I am alive, I can see myself, I can feel my body or I am in extreme pain, and people are trying to kill me or they are making demands of me; I am very much here and alive - I don't need anyone to tell me I'm alive.

That is a different kind of recognition and it is superficial and ego oriented; it is the results of, or experience of being alive. What you are feeling in the slit second that you are recognized, is your connection to all things and the God or creator that you wish to know. You are once again reaffirmed of your omnipotence and immortality as a spiritual being - being human.

When life recognizes life, it creates joyfulness in the awareness of the ego that is expressed physically. From the greater perspective when you can see that both hands are working together to create what you want, there is less urgency and doubt about your life's purpose. Life is no longer a struggle. It does not excuse you from participating in your life cycle; it just makes it easier, and the fear that you have known throughout your life disappears.

"I am alive and well" no matter what your present circumstances empowers you to change your circumstances. If you are alive and well in Rome, you can change your experience of Rome. If you are alive and well in a relationship, you are empowered to change the experience of that relationship. Acknowledgement of being life in the physical experience empowers you to use all aspects of what life has to offer. You are not what you think you are; you are life itself experiencing what you think you are.

A new beginning always comes after an ending. We are on the threshold of a new awareness in human evolution. All the periods we have gone through have brought us to this place in time. Currently we are experiencing the ending of religion and the industrial revolution. They have taken us as far as they can.

We were taken in by the promise of peace on earth, good will to man, more leisure time to spend in relationships, recreation, and learning. None of these promises have been realized and it is obvious that neither of these systems will take us there. They have brought us to the precipice where it's time to change direction or take the final leap.

A box that is built from the outside-in can take you nowhere; because there is nowhere to go. Every box eventually runs out of energy; and for those who have built the box and gathered together the people in it; their last words of denial will fade as the box is emptied and collapses in on itself.

Four thousand years of religion gave people hope for a better future. But it has failed because it is based on promises not action or something observable, and it is controlled by those who would benefit the most. It was built into a very tight box that gave no room for growth, and eternal damnation for those who apposed. Religion was never designed for intellectual people. It was sold through fear, because its promises could not be manifested or observed in this world. This life is the time and place where any belief system needs to prove itself. This is where the benefits need to be realized. We are spirit having a physical experience. We are not here to be spiritual, and this is where it all counts; where it's needed the most.

A few hundred years of industrialization has enslaved humanity in the pursuit of buying what they have built, with little time to enjoy the benefits of the machine. It is the machines who are enjoying the benefits as they interact with each other, while we humans slave away to support them. It, like religion was sold to us. The promise of more free time and less labour has not materialized. The collapse of world markets and the monetary system is inevitable. In the game of monopoly, the objective is to own it all and along with that goes the bank. It is a dead end road. If one owns all the money it becomes worthless and there is no one to play with. Money only has value when it is spent. It is another box that is doomed from the beginning.

The only worthwhile box is one with a door and a window. An open system brings in new life, energy, and there is continuing growth. Take out the door and window and life is absorbed by the darkness. Every step must lead to the next and the path must be clear. Every idea must die and be replaced by another. It is what we do; we are creators and there is no other purpose for our being. We are either creators or victims, but even in our victimhood we are creators of a greater picture of which we are willing supporters. We die when the idea dies unless we are willing to see through the window and walk through the door before the idea has run its course.

Has it not occurred to you that humanity moves very slowly in physical time and space? For thousands of years we have lived very simply. Up until just over 100 years ago, we lived primitively; using crude tools, using fire to light out homes and streets. We rode horses and used parchments or other people to communicate our thoughts to the rest of the world.

What happened in the last 100 years, where did all this new technology come from? How did man become so smart so quickly? There are people still living on dirt floors and drinking water from polluted streams with no light in their huts. At the same time and space there are people watching TV, flying in space ships, and using computers to communicate with each other and their machines. Have you noticed that something is happening, and happening very quickly? Are you not the least curious? Do you know why this is happening?

There are thousands of people who are feeling the change. Is it just coincidence that in this same time frame there have been intuitives, artists, and writers who have noticed these changes? Are they alarmists or is there something to what they have to say. The change is real and it is observable; so something is different whether we choose to accept it or not.

The world is changing and we hear that all the time. But what does that mean and who is driving that change, and where is it all going?

It simply means that the dinosaurs are dying off. Those who would not change will be no more. Those who have a vision for the future will be part of the change. The world is changing because people's thoughts are changing. It is not God or anything outside of ourselves that will create the new world. The world is the way it is now because of our thoughts and how we imagine it. Imagination is the inspiration for change. At some time we imagined the world as round with other continents and people and we demonstrated that. At sometime we imagined that we would sail into the skies and we created the ability to do that. We imagined other worlds and travelling into space and we are doing that.

Our thoughts about whom and what we are in relation to our environment brings about changes in it. We are creators; that is our sole purpose for being. If you insist on thinking so, then it was God who gave us this power. He gave us dominion over the earth and its beasts. However, in an enlightened state we know that we and God are the same thing; we are God having a physical experience.

In this state of change it will be the enlightened ones who determine our next step in evolution. It will be you and I who have imagined a better world, who will create it. It will be a world that is based on what works and what does not work; not right and wrong, good or bad. It will be created not by our five senses alone, but by our psychic abilities as well. In the new world there will be no need for the things we used in the past. We will have greater awareness of our own ability to create on demand what we want and what we want to experience. This world will have no need for money, conflict or war. There will be a higher regard for our environment, and no need to horde abundance as what we want will be created on demand by ourselves, by using our creative abilities to manifest it.

All these things are possible and within our present ability to create them; unless you think not. And if you belief not; you will experience not.

Imagine your world; think about what you want to experience. Be creative and intelligent about what you really, really, really want. It is those who can do this; who will be part of it. Every one of us already know what we want. It is the bottom line, the root of our desires that will create them. Is it happiness, security and freedom or is it things, guns and parent figures which we now have that we think we want to bring with us? Those must all be left behind; it is what we already have experienced that we want to move past. Old ideas will not build a new future.

This life is only one of many that you have already experienced and will be your step into a new future that you will also experience. Why not imagine it in your mind now. You are part of a process that creates worlds and universes. The world is the way it is now, because you are part of it. Take away one ingredient out of a recipe and it becomes something else. Every time someone dies or is born the world changes. You can change the future by changing the past. Imagine the future then return to the past to create it.

You are not as insignificant as you may think you are. Presently there are 6 billions minds experiencing the earth in 6 billion different ways. Your future will be likewise. Create your world now; don't wait for someone to give it to you. New experiences cannot be created using old thoughts. Move out of the box. Plan your creation, and have it ready for you when you return and are prepared to move in.

Your time has run out. Think about what has happened over the last 100 years; things are moving quickly now. You must prepare using a different thought about whom and what you are. You are God; how would you create your new world. If it is lasting happiness that we all want, then how would we demonstrate that happiness? Be intelligent about it; for instance we know that wanting money and getting it, does not bring us happiness. We may get it under unhappy circumstances and may not live to enjoy it. Think about what you really want; the money or the happiness.

Remember the words of Albert Einstein "You cannot solve any problem in the same state of consciousness in which it was created."

I am not politically motivated nor do I have any interest in the candidates or their policies. However, I was on occasion drawn to the debates later on in the 2008 US presidential election. I had the opportunity to hear one or two of Obama's speeches. I agree with many, that the US election was a trans-world election. Because the US influence is felt throughout the world, what happens in their country affects all of us in some way.

I don't necessarily believe that Obama can turn the country around and it doesn't really matter right now. I do believe that he is the seed of change, and that it is significant that he was elected. The vote for Obama was a clear message from the American people, that they want change. They no longer believe in old politics; it is obvious that it no longer works. For over 200 years the US has lived in a closed system of democracy governed by those who would benefit the most, and is deeply rooted in religious philosophy that is thousands of years old.

A closed system by its very nature is always doomed to extinction because there is not growth. New ideas are the food or energy for new growth. If nothing new is introduced to the system, it comes to an abrupt stop. Very much like filling a car's gas tank and then waiting for it to run out. Even if you did fill it up again, there is only so much a car can do. It will take you along established routes only.

Obama is correct in saying that it will not be him who changes the country or how people live; he will be the facilitator. It must be the people who change. It is the only way that it can work. The country is the way it is because of each individual thought and the collective thoughts of every citizen. Obama's responsibility will be to keep up the momentum of change expressed by the majority. He will constantly need to remind the people that it is they who will effect change; not he.

It has been demonstrated throughout history that what people say they want and how committed to what they want are two different things. Electing a new president who voices the desire for change just brings awareness. He does not have the power to change the beliefs and or desires of the people he governs. He is simply a sign post.

In order for the US people to embrace and manifest change in their country, they must examine and question their basic root thoughts and beliefs. Change will not come if one believes that he can hit himself over the head with a hammer once, and then do it again to get rid of the headache. Albert Einstein said that "you cannot solve any problem in the same state of consciousness in which it was created."

The people of the US base their ideals and decisions on a foundation of Christianity (In God we Trust). It is therefore logical and practical that their day to day decisions in how they govern themselves and the country would be influenced by their religious convictions. It is no more or less significant than any other country whether Muslim, Jewish or something else. Christian faith has brought them to this place that they are experiencing now. Change will not come until that has changed. You cannot live within the same paradigm and expect different results; it just does not work that way. If what you are experiencing is all that you want, then you have chosen well and what you have is what you will always experience. If you want change, then your thought must change. You manifest your experience by the process of thought, word and deed; in that order.

More than 2000 years ago in Christian folklore, a man was born called Jesus. Jesus grew up (supposedly) as a model for human behavior. He performed miracles and magic to demonstrate to his followers the power that is available to each and every believer ("you may do these things and more"). But power only comes to those who are mature enough to accept the responsibility for using it. The people at the time did not understand or accept that teaching. What they did was to create an "Jesus icon" and they gave away their power. They put the burden of using the "God Power" squarely on the shoulders of a man. Thus they did not have to take responsibility for their failures or their own lives. Both failures and successes became the will of God. The intent of Jesus' life was misinterpreted.

Although Obama is not Jesus; his message is basically the same. Once again there is an opportunity for humanity to understand the message and embrace it or again, turn their power over to another man. Obama seems to be very clear about his roll and his responsibility to help manifest the will of the people. But it will not be him that does it. It will be the individual. The change will come with each person's will to change and to move away from old ideas and principals that do not demonstrate that they work. Society no longer has the luxury to point fingers; clearly it has not worked.

There are no victims unless it is victimhood that you wish to experience, and even then it is voluntary at some level of your consciousness. Because there is only one mind which is the sum of all its individual minds, all working together voluntarily to experience any physical event.

Obama is just man charged with the responsibility to awaken and support the change you desire. For all who are reading this, Barack Obama is a symbol of your desire to create a new world "of the people and for the people." He is not the power - you are! He will not have all the answers, but he will be guided by the collective mind of the country.

After 220 years the US is now in a position to move to the next level of its evolution or continue on for another 220 years hitting themselves over the head with the same hammer and wondering why they are still hurting.

All things must change or parish. But first there must be the will and then the opportunity will present itself. It is here now and it is a choice as it always has been. They have brought themselves to a place of power on the planet they live, and with that power comes responsibility for using it. Their success will be measured by helping to develop other nations and countries to also become powerful and self sustaining; with the greater picture of a world brotherhood in mind. Diversity of thought is strength; assimilation is weakness and a path to destruction.

The Dinosaurs cannot be tamed; they must become extinct to make way for the mammals. The old ideas must go to make way for new life. It is not the end of life, but the beginning of a new one. The dinosaurs will return to a new world as mammals, and they will adapt. They will become the new generation once again. Now, near the end of our cycle we are paving the way for that to happen.

Now is the time, you have created the opportunity from necessity; necessity is the mother of invention. New thought creates new experiences. Don't look to God, Jesus or Obama for change.

They have all empowered you to recreate your destiny no matter what it is you choose, or how you perceive it.

Warning: Don't make the same mistake again. Embrace the idea not the man and then move past the idea.

The Talking Mirror

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all. You are the fairest in the land replies the mirror. The mirror is magic; it reflects back exactly what it sees, to the observer. How the observer feels about him/herself is displayed in the mirror as blind truth because the mirror sees past the image.

If you truly want to know how you feel about yourself, spend some time in the mirror and listen to the internal dialogue racing through your head. Do you like what you hear? What is it saying? Are you too fat, too skinny? Do the lines in your face tell you something about how you have lived your life? Are you reminded of days gone by when you were a handsome of beautiful young person or are you thinking about how you will look when you get old?

Is there life in your smile or do you have to make a great effort to soften the grimace permanently carved into your face? Have you even wondered what other people see? Do they see the same things as you and how are they judging you? Do they know the pain or suffering you may have endured during your lifetime?

Wouldn't it be great to have a mirror that tells you everything about who and what you are, and a reminder of how perfect you are; the way you are? And how perfectly you have lived your life no matter what you personally think about it. A mirror is irresistible to most people, it's like headlights coming toward you on a dark night; it's hard to look away.

Most people no matter how they have lived their lives, successfully or unsuccessfully (in their minds) need to remind themselves and reinforce their current beliefs. There is some comfort found in the familiar face they see no matter how deep the lines.

It's fairly easy to imagine someone looking in the mirror and trying to reaffirm his ego of its perfection even if what he believes at the time is that he is not perfect. We all do this at some time or other when we experience moments of disillusionment. We turn to the mirror; find friends or family who are supportive of our feelings and philosophy. We all need to know that we are alive and well in the moment.

But what if you are perfect? What if everything you do is perfect, and there is nothing you need or desire? What if every moment was filled with your own perfection; how would you experience your own perfection if you did not know or experience imperfection? Reading this you may think to yourself, "it doesn't happen that way" because you know you are not perfect - no one is. Or is there one who is perfect? Is anything perfect?

I have written about this more than once, but this time I am adding a small twist, one that you may have missed before if you have read my articles.

There are few who would compare themselves to the creator, God or whatever you would call it. But most people who have contemplated a creator or God assume that it/him/her is perfect. So if perfect is the creator and perfect is all there is, and if perfect created you, then by all definitions you are perfect. So why do you not feel perfect? If one is perfect all the time then how would you know yourself as perfect? What kind of a mirror do you use to experience your perfection?

Whether you know it or not, and whether you can accept it; you are perfect. You are perfection (the creator) experiencing itself in the physical world dualistically as perfection and non-perfection. You are the mirror looking back at yourself to experience yourself as perfect. You are constantly comparing your physical life (considered imperfect) against what you truly are (perfect) in the realm of the absolute. In other words you are stirring into the mirror and knowing yourself as perfect through the dualistic eyes of imperfection. You imagine yourself as imperfect so that you will know yourself as perfect.

Your reflection is an illusion, and one that you created so that you may know yourself. Your only purpose for being in the physical world is to experience yourself physically. Pure consciousness has no feelings or experience. It can only imagine itself as this or that. Consciousness manifests itself into physical reality so that it can experience feelings, emotions and all physical sensations. Life (creator) has is its own affirmation about how it perceives itself, and it is the physical body that mirrors that affirmation. Because there is only life; life cannot experience itself any other way. The universe was created for this purpose, and it works perfectly. The God/Creator that many seek can never be found, because it is never lost. For example; it is Roy trying to experience Roy by doing Roy things. By defining myself in the physical body against my environment, I have an experience of what Roy is and is not. I am no longer just a concept or idea; I am real in my own experience. I am the created experiencing the creator physically. I am God manifesting myself physically in the body known as Roy. I am perfect in myself as myself. There is no separation between Roy and "I"; we are one - the same thing experiencing itself in more than one reality at the same time. The body does not exist; it's a projection of the creator's thoughts and its image is reflected back. So that the creator may say, "This is me, this is what I am."

How can one murder, steal, lie, rape, cheat and still be perfect? You can't if you don't understand and accept that you are the creator. You cannot doe any of these things to anyone, because no one exists beyond yourself. You are doing these things to yourself. It is your left hand coming to meet your right hand to create and experience. It is the body of the creator working together with the mind to the manifest the experience. If the mind does not wish the hands to meet, it will be impossible to put them together. There are no victims, and all parts of the creative experience are manifested in complete cooperation with all parts, real or imagined.

It has always been my desire to empower people to own what is rightfully theirs; the power to create. To own the power of the creator; you must know yourself as the creator. When you turn to God, faith, religion or anyone or anything else; you give up your power to create, and find yourself down on your knees begging for crumbs. If it is easier for you to understand and you're just not ready to know yourself as God, we can go backwards here a bit and say that God gave you the power to create; he empowered you to create all that you desire and gave you dominion over your environment to make your creations. Even his son said; "you can do these things and more." The issue I have with this thinking is that you are still limiting your power to what was given to you. However, it is a step towards a new realization or awareness of what spirit really is and your connection to it.

You truly are the mirror of the soul. In truth you are the image, the mirror and the imaged.

Destiny and the Law of Karma

The popular western view is that we are in control of our lives and everything that happens to us is because of our own choice. On the other hand, the popular eastern view is that not every thing that happens to us is under our control and that we are nothing but puppets in a preordained plan.

However, neither of these views are completely correct. According to the science of Spirituality, in the current times 65% of our lives are ruled by Destiny and 35% by wilful action. However, we can overcome the 65% of the Destiny part, by using the 35% of our wilful action to undertake the correct spiritual practice.

Destiny is when one has no control over life situations. Wilful action is that portion of one’s life, which is still under one’s control.

An example of wilful action: Let us take an example of a person who is drunk and has a poorly maintained car. In this state he decides to drive his car down a steep mountainside, crossing speed limits. He loses control of his car and skids off the road down the mountainside. Would that be an accident caused by destiny or wilful action? It would be due to his wilful action and not due to Destiny as he could have chosen not to drink and drive. He also had the option of keeping his car well maintained and could have driven it within the speed limits.

An example of an event influenced by destiny: Let us take another example wherein the person does not drink, drives his well-maintained car carefully, down the same mountainside within speed limits. All of a sudden, a portion of the road collapses due to a landslide and he meets with an accident. In this case, the person had no control over the landslide that occurred and hence this is a destined event.

Destiny heavily influences many aspects of our lives, such as the decisions that we make, with whom we spend our lives etc. All major events in our life such as birth, marriage, major illnesses, accidents and death are pre-destined.

Now, let us see why and how Destiny is created by us.

Destiny and the rule of Give-and-Take

According to the ‘Law of Karma’, every positive deed generates a ‘merit’ while every negative deed generates a ‘demerit’ or a sin. Subsequently one has to reap the results of one’s deeds as a part of destiny. Whenever one does a good deed to others, it is bound to give a positive return (in the form of some happiness). Whenever one inflicts harm, it is bound to give a negative return in the form of sorrow in some form. It cannot be undone by a simple ‘Sorry’! The ‘law of Karma’ is infallible. Throughout our lives, we are either settling an old account i.e. fulfilling our destiny, or creating a new one. If for some reason, the account cannot be settled in this birth, it gets carried over to the next birth. We are not consciously aware of the give-and-take accounts or the destiny that is generated in our previous births.

All major events in our lives such as the time and place of birth, our spouse, death, etc. occur as planned in our Destiny. One is born into a particular family, where conditions are conducive to undergo one’s destiny and where one has a significant give-and-take account with each member of the family. In addition, one also has a different give-and-take account with different individuals with whom one comes across such as relatives, close friends, neighbours, colleagues, etc.

If we continue to use our wilful actions without undertaking spiritual practice then we will keep accumulating a give and take account thus increasing our destiny, and our spiritual growth will stagnate. This will keep us trapped in the vicious cycle of birth and death and away from the basic objective of achieving Liberation.

As Destiny is a spiritual root cause of difficulties in our life, we can nullify or reduce the effects of destiny only by undertaking the spiritual practice most conducive to the times. This is because destiny is completely a spiritual aspect, and can be overcome only with a spiritual remedy, which is undertaking spiritual practice as per the basic principles of Spirituality.

What happens after death?

When a person dies the physical body ceases to exist but rest of his existence or consciousness continues which is known as the subtle body. It comprises of the mental, causal (intellect) and supracausal body (super ego).This body then goes to one of the 13 planes of existence other than the Earth plane.

Subtle planes of existence

There are 14 main planes of existence in the Universe. Seven of them are positive planes and seven are negative planes.

The seven positive planes are Heaven and Higher Regions of Heaven. They are occupied by living persons and subtle bodies doing righteous deeds and who are engaged in doing spiritual practice towards God-Realisation as the ultimate in spiritual growth.

The other seven are negative planes commonly known as Hell. They are occupied by the subtle bodies that have done unrighteous deeds and are engaged in spiritual practice according to the negative path to attain supernatural powers. This spiritual power is primarily used to enhance one’s control over others or for negative purposes.

The Earth region is the first plane in the hierarchy of the positive planes.

Importance of subtle components in us

Each one of us is made up of three subtle basic components. These components are spiritual in nature and cannot be seen but they define our personalities. They are:

• Sattva: Purity and knowledge
• Raja: Action and passion
• Tama: Ignorance and inertia

In an average person in the current era, the basic subtle tama component is as high as 50%.

The ‘weight’ of the subtle body is primarily a function of the amount of the subtle basic tama component in our being.

Attributes affecting our destination after death

The more we are filled with the raja and tama components the more we display the following characteristics which add to our ‘weight’ and impact which region we go to after death:

• More attachment to worldly things and selfishness
• More unfulfilled desires
• Feelings of revenge
• Higher amount of sins
• Higher amount of personality defects such as anger, greed, fear, etc.
• A higher amount of ego: By ego we mean how much a person identifies himself with his individuality in the form of his body, mind and intellect as opposed to the soul within
• Resulting in lower spiritual level

Conclusion

The above facts give us a fair idea of the possible after-death consequences of how we live our lives. Only with spiritual practice or with extreme merits can one go to the higher planes of existence and avoid unhappiness and punishment enjoying higher levels of happiness. Once we go to the lower regions such as the Nether region or Hell, we stay there and experience severe unhappiness for centuries until we completely pay for our sins by suffering the intense punishments and get a chance to be reborn on Earth.
To do consistent spiritual practice on the Earth plane according to the 5 basic laws of spiritual practice is a guaranteed way of advancing to higher realms of existence after physical death.

People who have died with unfulfilled desires, personality defects, negative impressions in the mind, high ego, who have harmed others and/or have the basic nature of harming others. Most importantly people who have not done spiritual practice according to the basic principles of Spirituality while alive are likely to become ghosts in their afterlife.

3. What is the meaning of being affected by ghosts’?
Being affected by ghosts (demons, devils, spirits, etc.) is when the physical, mental, intellectual or spiritual functioning of a person or any combination thereof is affected or altered by the ghosts entirely through the use of ghosts’ black energy without direct intervention by the ghosts. Since there is no direct intervention by the ghosts, there is no controlling of the mind and intellect of the affected person.

However the ghost affects that aspect of the person, which is most conducive to achieving its objective; either of troubling that person, fulfilling its own desire, or preventing spiritual practice, etc

4. What is demonic possession?

Demonic possession is when ghosts (demons, devils, spirits, etc.) control the mind (emotions, thoughts) and intellect (decision making ability) of a person. As a result, they also control the person’s actions.

In a possession, the ghost (demon, devil, spirit) is actively involved in controlling the mind and intellect as a means to harm the person. 5. Spiritual strength wins

In the subtle realms of our existence, spiritual strength is the most important currency. Out of the person targeted for attack and the attacking ghost, whoever is spiritually stronger wins. If the ghost has more spiritual strength than the person to be attacked, then the ghost can affect or possess the person at will. If a person has a higher spiritual level, his defence against a ghost attack is stronger as a result of his own spiritual strength accrued with spiritual practice, and consequently the protection that he/she receives from God is also higher.

Many people have heard of the "Christ Consciousness", but don't know exactly what that phrase means.

Christians, of course, insist that there has only been one person in all of history who had the Christ Consciousness--a Jewish carpenter or stone mason named Jesus ben Joseph, son of Mary, who lived and died in the first century C.E. and who, as it turned out, was really God Himself. Yet, those who are more aware of or open to ideas of deeper spiritual knowing and evolutionary developments available to all people understand that the Christ Consciousness was not exclusive to one man in all of history, and he didn't even create it--it was there before him. Few of these people doubt that Jesus certainly did capture and embody this Consciousness; but again, the dispute is over his being like Tigger; that is, "the only one".

As a matter of fact, the earlier and more mystical Christian traditions seem to indicate that even they acknowledge that more people than just Jesus ben Joseph of Galilee can have, and have had, the Christ Consciousness awakened in their being. The original disciples were able to perform miracles in the name of their lord (which simply means their master and teacher). And Jesus is quoted in the Gospels with having said, in so many words, that anyone who believed in what he did could also do the exact same things that he did. And today, there are Christian "Prosperity Teachers" who teach that you can heal yourself and others of afflictions, have all the wealth you desire, and be as powerful as Jesus in every way--except for those parts about "being sinless" and being the "savior of all".

Does it entail never having made a single grave error in your entire life and being everybody else's savior? Those who understand Christ as a level of awareness, not as an individual man from a particular time in history, would say no, it's got nothing to do with that. They would argue that Jesus was not sinless and was not born with the Christ Consciousness, although he probably was what we today would call gifted. They would also argue that he was not born of a woman who had never had sexual intercourse before his birth, and putting on the Christ Consciousness doesn't entail being that, either!

Indeed, the word "Christ" is a Greek word that was around for hundreds, if not thousands, of years before Jesus was ever born. And it means "anointed king" or "anointed one", which makes it very close conceptually to another (Jewish) word often used for Jesus: "messiah". This royal anointing goes all the way back, at least, to ancient dynastic Egypt, where the pharaoh or queen would receive an anointing on their head with an oil made from the fat of the monitor lizard (the "dragon") at the hands of the high priest. This anointing was a ritual way of signifying that the new monarch was the embodiment of the gods on earth.

So, what does the Christ Consciousness mean for us today? It means learning to think on a higher plane than most other humans around you. It means living out such qualities as patience, kindness, honesty, being in love with the truth, being slow to anger, and seeking justice without seeking vengeance. Anyone who takes the courageous conviction of opening themselves to the prospect of Consciousness can learn and cultivate it. It means having our foreheads "anointed" by a more cosmic understanding that comes "down" to us from above--from the vast universe, not just the little blue dot called Earth.

Importance of the study of Spirituality

Only when the intellect is convinced about the importance of practicing Spirituality can we make concerted efforts to do spiritual practice regularly.

What should we study?

• Ideally the books we read should give clear instructions on the way forward in spiritual practice. The guidance given in the books should conform to the six basic principles of spirituality.

• From the perspective of reading spiritual texts for our spiritual growth, we should preferably read literature written by Saints or Guru. There is 100% Divine Consciousness in texts written by Saints of the highest order as compared to 0-2% in case of spiritual texts written by other authors of lower spiritual level. Thus by reading spiritual books by authors of lower spiritual level, at the most we can obtain some knowledge at the intellectual level. But when reading spiritual texts written by Saints, even when reading we get Divine Consciousness (Chaitanya), which is the objective behind doing spiritual practice.

• When reading Holy texts we should take care not to limit our understanding to a myopic sectarian viewpoint. We should try to reconcile it with the all encompassing science of Spirituality.

• When reading Holy Scriptures we must understand that there is an implied meaning to the text. It is important that we understand the implied meaning and put it into practice. Else no matter how many hundreds of periodic readings of Holy Scriptures we undertake it has little benefit with regards to our spiritual growth.

How should we study?

1. We should begin by reading the preface of the spiritual text, so as to understand the author's or compiler's intention behind putting together the text. This would also help us in understanding the context in which the author or the compiler is explaining spiritual principles.

2. We should ask ourselves questions at every step to check whether we have understood every line of the text. If we are not clear on any point, then we should get it clarified from our spiritual guide or the conductor of the satsang (spiritual meeting) we attend.

3. Once a particular section of the text is clear, we should explain it to someone in our own words. Explaining a concept to another person and encouraging him to ask questions is a good way to know how well we have understood the particular concept.

4.We should check whether we have experienced at any time what we are studying and ask our self that if not, then why not. If we have not experienced a certain Truth in the Holy text it means that we need to do more spiritual practice.

5. We should make specific plans to put into practice what is understood and review from time to time whether we are experiencing the signs of expected progress.

6. We should study the same text from time to time. This is because with increase in spiritual level the ability to understand the text, the capacity to put it into practice, etc., increases.

How long should we study?

Seekers in the primary stage: In this stage, we should read ‘just for the sake of reading’, that is, in order to develop some belief in Spirituality and its practice. We should read those Holy texts which have minimal or no discrepancy between the literal and implied meaning.

Later on, when we begin to get spiritual experiences after practicing Spirituality, this reading proves useful for their confirmation. For instance, if we experience the fragrance of an incense stick without an incense stick being lit, we neither feel surprised nor ponder over it, if we have already read about it and realize that it is a spiritual experience.

Seekers in the intermediate stage: In this stage studying is not as essential as we now have faith in Spirituality.

Most importantly
If we do not undertake spiritual practice simultaneously with study, then there is a risk of not making spiritual progress due to the vanity acquired as a result of voracious reading and knowledge gained thereof. There is no substitute to practicing spirituality and all our study should be geared toward achieving higher levels of spiritual practice.

Your heart is the central core of your being-ness. It is your bridge to life, your connection in God, and your relationship with the totality of existence. It is your association to a life of simplicity and contentment, even in the midst of the busy-ness of everyday living.

What is true of you is free of everything. It is not bound by a single arising or any part of manifestation. This essence of you is not governed by desire or the attempt to gain anything. It has no need or motion to defend itself. It is completely free already.

It has no one in the driving seat trying to be in control – it is simply the isness of everything “ising” in this very moment. There is nothing about itself that is attempting to go anywhere – it is already everywhere. There is nothing about itself that is trying to get anything done – it is already complete and changeless, even within the change of form.

Who you are is not superior or inferior. You do not have to suffer these things. None of these things apply to the one that you have always been and yet known it not. It is completely beyond your imagination. You cannot imagine your true self. You have to realize the reality of it, to be the freedom that it is.

A new way of seeing is required of you, for you to wilfully enter into what has always been true of you. This new way of seeing must become part of your daily existence, if you wish to live from within the depths of the freedom of your heart. Your belief in the chattering mind, as being true of you, is the only thing that has ever hindered you from realizing how graced you always are.

Recognising that the bulk of your life is not as happy as you would like, is not a pleasant feeling to contend with day by day. These feelings of discontentment, which arise out of a daily existence of not realizing how free you already are, create a good deal of frustration. They lead to an ongoing and unconscious search for happiness.

Without any seeing into the automatic and outward movement of your everyday energy, your search for contentment inevitably continues on.

Freedom is already the foundation of life, prior to any movement, in any direction. Seeking freedom, by its very nature, is an activity that moves out and away from the very freedom that is already true of you.

A mental understanding of this freedom, will not free you from being driven by the sub and un-conscious drives of the mind and body that you wake up to each day. Your initiation into living the immediacy of who you are, begins as you find out that you are already whole and complete in this moment right now.

Nobody can force open this door of your ever present heart. Many have tried and plenty more still try. Trying to force this door will always keep you from simply realizing what is currently taking place in this moment. Strange as it may seem to you, your heart is already freely standing and wide open for you to consciously be it. This is true in every single moment.

A period of intense prayer; a deep meditation; a moment of openness with nature; these may well open the door into the sanctity of your heart, where your freedom is genuinely felt. Throughout history, scores of people have drunk of the nectar of their heart in these, and numerous other ways. Unfortunately, these tend to be rare occasions. Blessings of this kind are not enough to turn the tide of the distractions, of your everyday life, that keep you from recognising how free you are.

Waiting for a moment of bliss, or settling for an occasional long tall glass of the nectar of the molten golden honeyed-ness of your heart, is akin to going to church on Sundays for an hour every week. As lovely as it is to have these distractive moments of ecstasy from within the daily rounds of your everyday living, they will never be enough to relieve the pain and suffering of you forgetting just what it is that you truly and already are.

Types of Spiritual Emotion

Manifest spiritual emotion as the name suggests is when there is an apparent manifestation of spiritual emotion. We will expand on the various types of manifestation in subsequent paragraphs.

There are two types of spiritual emotion:
• Manifest and
• Unmanifest.

Manifest spiritual emotion as the name suggests is when there is an apparent manifestation of spiritual emotion. We will expand on the various types of manifestation in subsequent paragraphs.

Unmanifest spiritual emotion is when there is spiritual emotion but it does not manifest or is not apparent to others.

Out of the two, unmanifest spiritual emotion is a higher state as any energy spent in the manifestation of spiritual emotion is conserved. This spiritual energy can then be used to further one’s spiritual growth. It can also be used to serve God and Guru by spreading Spirituality.

Manifest spiritual emotion

When a person is experiencing spiritual emotion (bhaav) it can manifest in 8 ways. The following are the 8 ways it can manifest –

1. Becoming motionless/experiencing standstill
2. Sweating
3. Hair standing on end/goosebumps
4. Tremulous voice
5. Tremor
6. Becoming pale/blanching
7. Tears flowing from the eyes
8. Fainting

These manifestations of spiritual emotion happen effortlessly and spontaneously in the absence of any other non-spiritual contributing factor. When experiencing this state a person’s demeanor is usually altered and he also experiences lack of body consciousness, mind going thoughtless by being fixed on a certain religious stimulus. It happens when there is something to precipitate a sudden increase in sattvikta (purity).

For example, tears of spiritual emotion are quite often experienced by a seeker during singing of hymns or when they remember Guru or God or when then recollect various spiritual experiences in their life. This can be classified as tears of spiritual emotion, one of the eight types of spiritual emotion. When all the above eight signs are seen simultaneously, it is said that the eight-fold saattvik spiritual emotion (ashtthasaattvik bhaav) has been aroused.

This experience of manifestation of spiritual emotion is usually short in duration but can occasionally also be of a prolonged nature. A longer duration is usually experienced by seekers at a higher spiritual level or Saints on the path of Devotion (Bhaktiyoga) when going through some exceptional spiritual experience.

Just because one experiences spiritual emotion does not necessarily mean that one is of a higher spiritual level. What are Humans Comprised of?

In this article we explain the composition of the human body and its various subtle bodies. Modern science has gone in some depth into understanding the physical body. However its understanding of the other aspects of human existence is still very limited. For example the understanding of the human psyche and intellect is still more or less limited to their physical aspects. However spiritual science has studied the entire human existence in great detail.

What are human beings comprised of as per spiritual science?

A living person is made up of the following bodies:

1. The Physical Body

This is the body that is best known to modern science. It comprises of the skeletal framework, muscles, tissues, organs, blood, 5 sense organs, etc.

2. The Vital Energy Body

This is the body also known as the Praandeha. This body provides the vital, life-sustaining energy for all the functions of the physical as well as the mental body. There are five types of vital energies or praana:

Praana: Energy for the activity of inhalation.
Udaana: Energy for the activity of exhalation and speech.
Samaana: Energy for the activity of the stomach and intestines.
Vyaana: Energy for voluntary and involuntary movements of the body.
Apaana: Energy for urination, excretion, ejaculation, childbirth, etc.

3. The Mental Body or the Mind

The Mental Body (Manodeha) or the Mind is the seat of our feelings, emotions and desires. It carries in it countless number of impressions from this life and previous lives. It is made up of three parts:

The conscious mind: It is that part of our thoughts and feelings that we are aware of.

The sub-conscious mind: It contains all the impressions required to complete our destiny (praarabdha) in our current lifetime.

The unconscious mind: This is the aspect of our mind that we are completely unaware of. This contains all the impressions that are associated with our accumulated account.

Sometimes we also refer to an aspect of the Mental Body as the Desires Body or Vaasanaadeha. This is the aspect of the mind that contains all the impressions of desires. The physical organ associated with the Mental Body is the brain.

4. The Intellect

The Causal Body (Kaaranadeha) or the Intellect Body is the body which deals with the decision making process and reasoning ability. The physical organ associated with the Intellect Body is the brain.

5. The Subtle Ego

The Subtle Ego or the Supracausal Body (Mahaakaaranadeha) is the final vestige of the nescience and is the feeling that we are separate from God.

6. The Soul

The Soul is the God principle within us and is our true nature. It is the main component of the subtle body which is a fraction of the Supreme God Principle with the qualities of Absolute Truth (Sat), Absolute Consciousness (Chit) and Bliss (Aanand). The Soul is beyond the 3 subtle basic components.

The subtle body

The Subtle Body is defined as that part of our being or consciousness that leaves our Physical Body at the time of physical death. It comprises of the Mental Body, the Causal Body or Intellect, the Supracausal Body or Subtle Ego and the Soul.

The following are some other aspects of the subtle body -

Subtle sense organs:
By subtle sense organs we mean the subtle aspect of our 5 sense organs by which we are able to perceive the subtle realm.

Subtle motor organs: By subtle motor organs we mean the subtle aspect of our physical motor organs such as our arms, tongue, etc. All activity is initiated first in subtle motor organs and then executed in the physical dimension by one’s gross motor organs.

Nescience

The word Nescience or Avidyaa stems from the fact that we identify ourselves with our physical body, mind and intellect and not with our true nature which is the Soul or the God principle within us. The greatest attachment that each one has is for himself; that is his own mind and body. Even a slight discomfort or illness can make one unhappy; hence everyone should gradually become detached about oneself and accept pain and illness in one’s stride. This is of course with the inherent understanding that happiness and unhappiness in life is experienced primarily due to our destiny. Also that only by identifying with the Soul can we experience perpetual Bliss.
The Soul and Nescience together constitute the embodied soul. Nescience for a living person has twenty components in all - the Physical Body, five subtle sense organs, the five subtle motor organs, the five vital energies, the conscious mind, the Chitta, the Intellect Body and the ego. Since the functions of the components of the subtle body go on continuously, the attention of the embodied soul is drawn to them instead of the soul, that is away from spiritual knowledge to Nescience.

Since I often refer in conversation about how Radical Forgiveness has the power to create change in people, it seems appropriate for me to say something about the nature of that power and the source from which it emanates. You would probably expect me to say that God is the source, but I am not so certain that I would.

I have always maintained that for Radical Forgiveness to work, it is not necessary to believe in God or to be religious in any way. I believe we have a faculty of mind which I refer to as our Spiritual Intelligence that operates independent of any belief system we might have about God or anything else for that matter. The pious and the atheistic both have Spiritual Intelligence in equal measure.

Our Spiritual Intelligence is the part of us that is connected, not to our mortal Ego through which both our mental intelligence and emotional intelligence operate, but directly to our immortal I AM Self. That being so, the belief systems which exist in our ego mind are irrelevant. Because we have Spiritual Intelligence, we are already connected to Universal Intelligence, therefore we are powerful spiritual beings no matter what we believe.

Note: This is how I tend to explain how Radical Forgiveness works, but even this type of mental construct is not necessary. I am human so I have fun creating 'stories' to try to explain the unexplainable. However, all we really need to know is that it works. Our experience is enough.

The source of the power then, comes not from ‘out there’ or from a Deity or Divine being, but from within you. Your power lies in your own innate Spiritual Intelligence that knows the truth of who you are, understands how the Universe really works at the quantum level and is able to shape reality through moving energy. YOU are the source of your own power — you just don’t know it. That's because Spiritual Intelligence is operating mostly below the level of awareness.

However, as we become more spiritually aware, we can begin to use our Spiritual Intelligence with conscious intent. It is here that the tools of Radical Forgiveness provide some necessary assistance. They help us to communicate with our Spiritual Intelligence. When we use the tools, I think we are engaging in what I call 'secular prayer.' They help us bridge the gap between our old ego-driven ways of thinking, to a consciousness based in trust, love and surrender. We need the kind of help that the Radical Forgiveness technology provides because, quite honestly, we are not adequate to that shift yet.

So I don’t argue with the idea that God is the source of one’s power to forgive, or to manifest for that matter. I would simply qualify it by asserting that YOU are God and therefore the source of your power. Or as the Unity Minister, Jack Boland, once expressed it, "You are a little bit of God Stuff."

But there is another dimension to this yet. I believe that Spiritual Intelligence is a shared intelligence. It is the intelligence of Oneness. We are all part of it which means that when we use the tools of Radical Forgiveness, we are working with the collective. The power that I am alluding to then is the power of Oneness. We're all in this together. When I forgive you, I forgive everybody, including myself. Now that's power!

What is Spiritual emotion (bhaav)

On the other hand spiritual emotion (bhaav) is a state of communion with God. It is related to the sub-conscious mind (chitta). When one’s spiritual emotion is awakened, for that time one transcends one’s usual state of identification with one’s worldly existence. The awareness of one’s own existence also reduces. Thus in a state of spiritual emotion one transcends one’s little ‘i’ (the physical body, mind, intellect, subtle ego) identifies with the big ‘I’ (the soul). Spiritual emotion gives us a spiritual experience of Bliss (Aanand). Bliss is a state of superlative happiness. It is however a state beyond happiness and unhappiness.

How to differentiate spiritual emotion from emotion?

In the case of a highly emotional person, many a time emotion (bhaavanaa) is mistaken for spiritual emotion (bhaav), Whether what one is experiencing is emotion or spiritual emotion can be confirmed only through the medium of active sixth sense or extrasensory perception (ESP) However at an intellectual level we can verify to some extent whether what we are experiencing is just emotion or spiritual experience by checking the following criteria:

Reduction in Ego or ‘i’ness: In a state of spiritual emotion there is a marked reduction in our ego. Hence we can check for our ego manifestations as an aid to decide whether we are experiencing normal emotion or spiritual emotion. For example we can check whether we feel ego about the state of spiritual emotion itself while we are going through the experience. However if the spiritual emotion is not sustained, the ego can rise at a later date.

Reduction in body consciousness: During a state of spiritual emotion as one identifies to varying degrees with the big ‘I’ (the soul), one loses body consciousness to that extent. Hence when one’s spiritual emotion is awakened and becomes manifest in the form of any of the eightfold manifestations like tears of Bliss, etc., one does not feel self-conscious. This is so even though one may be shy or reserved and his spiritual emotion is awakened in the presence of many strangers.

Experience of Preeti or love without expectations: Spiritual emotion is basically a state of experiencing God within ourselves and in others. Also in this state our awareness about ourselves is low. Hence in this state one experiences love without expectations for others.

Cool tears: If the manifestation of our spiritual emotion is in the form of tears, they are cool. On the other hand tears resulting from normal emotion are warm to the touch.

Type of crying: Crying resulting from emotion, especially of grief can be of the sobbing kind. Crying following spiritual emotion is of the silent variety.

Feeling after the state: Again, as spiritual emotion is a state of communion with God, even after coming out of that state one experiences vestiges of the identification with the big ‘I’. This can be experienced in the form of reduction in pettiness in thinking, stability, increase in spiritual maturity, increase in intellectual conviction about spiritual practice and God-realization, etc.

Type of death according to time can be divided as:

The probability of preventing Probable death is 70-100%. The probability of preventing Death is 30-70%. There is not chance to prevent definite death.

Ghosts are different things depending on who you ask. While 32% of Americans believe in ghosts, according to a 2005 Gallup poll, there is a divergence of opinion as to what constitutes a ghost. Parapsychologists are in favor of the term, apparition, because it's purportedly more precise. An apparition is considered immaterial, but it can seem real and tangible. There are a variety of entities that qualify for the catch-all term, ghost, and here they are, in no particular order.

More than 60,000 unconfirmed deaths have been reported and the owners of the property, construction workers and maintenance staff, and paranormal investigators have claimed one can see unnatural lights and phantasms darting around the premises at night. The hallways and rooms are filled with appearances of ghosts.

It is clear that immaterial entities exist because Jesus cast these personal and evil beings out of people. They shrieked and screamed and cursed, and this was written about as an account of real events by the meticulous doctor and historian, Luke, in the gospel of Luke. Get protection from spirits through Jesus Christ. Whether or not they're actual people or vicious demons, Jesus has all power in heaven and on earth, and it says this in Matthew 28:18.

There are probably as many definitions of Wicca (also known as "the Craft", Witchcraft, or the Old Religion) as there are practitioners --one of the joys of this path is that there is no "one, true way"; intuition is as valuable as teaching. This then is my personal definition of what Wicca is to me.

First, because there are so many misconceptions about Wicca, let me define that what Wicca is not is Satanism or devil-worship. Wiccans don't believe in an all-evil entity.

Wicca is a religion based on experience of Deity as male and female. It is panentheistic--seeing all things as part of God/dess, and seeing the Earth Herself as a living organism of whom we are part. It is also a religion of immanence--seeing God/dess present here and now, within all things, not "out there somewhere" but part of daily life.

Wiccans reverence Nature in all her forms, and often are active environmentalists. Wiccans celebrate eight major holidays, the beginning and midpoint of each season. Wiccans also celebrate the phases of the moon. Each of these rituals or observances helps us attune with the ever-changing cycles of Nature.

Wicca is also a Craft. We practice magic using meditation, chants, visualization and spells to help focus our will on what we want to happen. Wiccans believe that everything we do, good or ill, comes back to us tripled, which is why we don't hex or curse anyone. We also believe that many psychic talents are real and simply haven't been studied enough by science to be catalogued as such.

Wiccans for the most part accept reincarnation, not as dogma to be believed, but as fact based on personal experience. Many of us remember past lives. As one who has studied science, I know that every atom of my body once was part of something else, and I am continually losing atoms that become part of others. Knowing this, it makes sense that my soul also is "recycled".

Wicca is a positive philosophy. The only law is "An it harm none, do as ye will": Enjoy life to the fullest, and remember to help everyone else enjoy it as well. Wiccans don't preach; Wiccans don't evangelize. Everyone has to find his or her own path, and we welcome the diversity this brings.

Minyak Istanbul

Istanbul oil is one of the more common magickal types easily found sold in the Arab communities all over Indonesia and worn especially by the teachers of Islam. It has various grades and the good ones exude a very pungent, but fragrant scent. Once smelled it is hardly ever forgotten. It remains as a lasting memory. The scent is quite enduring, sometimes lasting for days on one's person and some say, may be sensed as far away as 20 feet--though this may be an exaggeration. Because of its pungency, not too many people agree well with it, saying that it makes their head whirl.

Minyak Istanbul although worn as an ordinary perfume among the pedagogues of Islam, is also used by shamans as a potent oil for the purposes of romance, sexual attraction, and charisma. When empowered with one's personal energies and thought-form, anyone within the range of the scent would not only look our way, but feel attracted and have the desire to socialize with us. The opposite sex would find us beautiful or good-looking. Pure Istanbul oil is hard to procure, most of what is sold through market places have been diluted and blended with other oils.

The oil may be consecrated with the following mantra to attract a specific person:

Minyak Sinyong-Nyong

Among the many wonder oils of the Dayaks is (Si)-Nyong-nyong. This minyak originates with the Iban tribe. It is a rare magical love oil used by the natives of Kalimantan mostly for keeping one's spouse faithful, although it is also applied in other affairs related to the heart by both men and women.

It is said that men who are affected by the influence of this oil would never commit adultery, even-though under barraged by the wildest temptation that the fairer sex may direct to them. In the event a man were to succumb to the wiles and seduction of a temptress, he would discover himself losing his sexual potency and would be unable to perform the coitus rite. The strange thing is that although impotent when it comes to other women, the body would function normally when fulfilling sexual duties towards one's lawful wife.

Nyong-nyong is made through a complex ritualistic process that is kept secret by the producers of this oil. It is usually manufactured during the natal day of the magically powerful head of the tribe. According to sources, on this special day, enchanted bottles are hung compulsorily on a certain banyan tree species for seven days and nights, after which time the bottles are magically filled with a thick fluid, and this is known as Nyong-nyong. The rite is not always successful which accounts for its rarity.

Nyong-nyong may be applied in many ways, one way is to have it ingested by the unsuspecting subject. Several drops in the subject's drink is enough to cause him to reject the approaches of other women. The affect of the oil may only last for several weeks or months, during which time the enchanter would repeat the process to maintain the status quo.

In general, the many love oils of the Dayaks may be applied for influencing another using the following rite:

Take some dirt or soil from the subject's footprints and wrap it up in a white piece of cloth, after which several drops of a love oil should be applied on the bundle. After this is done, the bundle of soil should be placed beneath one's pillow. The subject should then be visualized in an appropriate manner while calling out his or her name at least three times. Simultaneously, the pillow should be turned repeatedly and beaten.

Although difficult to acquire, Nyong-nyong oil is available to those that search for it. Minyak Nyong-nyong may be found sold by some perfume dealers, peddlers, and commercial psychics although the genuineness of the oil offered is questionable.

Minyak Air-Mata Duyung

This oil is the eye-secretion, or tears of the sea mammal, called, dugong (sea-cow) or "duyung" among the locals here in Indonesia. The creature sheds tears for lubrication of the eyes. The duyung is long believed to be the mythological mermaid and related to the Greek "sirens"; however, the latter is often referred to by Indonesian folklorists as "putri-duyung" and is quite different from the "ikan-duyung" or the dugong. Its scientific classification is as follow :

Family: Pugongidae in the order Sirenia.

Classification: Dugong dugon.

When unintentionally caught in fishermen's nets, perhaps out of the pain of struggle, the gentle and harmless dugong sheds these "crocodile tears." Most fishermen are careful to wipe these tears off the dugong with cotton swabs before returning the creature to the sea. The fluid in the cotton is later pressed and released into vials.

The oil or eye-secretion of the dugong has a wonderful but slight scent and is highly-prized for its magickal power to attract the opposite sex and is often used as a stand-alone or a blend with other magickal oils of nature with high pheromone content. In appearance, the "minyak air-mata duyung" is crystal-clear like water of a stream. Because of its scarcity, it is very costly.

Minyak Bulus

Minyak Bulus is derived from the fat of the fresh-water turtle and is used as an active ingredient for increasing the size of sexual appendages such as breasts and penises. It has a thick, yellowish appearance. When purchasing this oil one ought to be cautious as there are many fakes in the market-place. To use this oil one simply anoints and massages one's breast or penis with it. Scientific research on the virtues of the Bulus oil has not yet been conducted as far as we know, but generations of use of the oil gives credence to it's amazing properties.

Minyak Apel Jin

During rites of spirit-conjurations and evocations, shamans and those involved with Islamic occultism here in Indonesia often appropriate the Apel Jin oil for facilitating the contact. This oil has a black appearance. The thicker forms of this oil appears like tar and may be burnt on glowing embers as incense. The Apel-Jin is mostly used to conjure regional or house-spirits or those entities belonging to the lower astral realm. Its composition is a highly kept secret but some say that it contains products extracted from domestic live-stock or farm animals. The Apel-Jin comes in various grades and originally packed in apple-like brass containers--thus giving its name.

Minyak Lintah

Lintah means "leech." Minyak Lintah is thus translated into "Oil of Leeches." This oil, like the minyak bulus, is used to increase the size of the male penis and many have confirmed as to its efficacy. The oil has a black appearance and is derived from leeches prepared in a secret-manner. The application method is similar as the Minyak Bulus.

Minyak Kesambi and Minyak Banyu Urip

The "Banyu Urip" and Kesambi oils are names of products given by their adept-producer. These oils are extracted from the sap of certain trees and then empowered with magickal-force. The User only need consume the potions for the powers to begin to take effect in his body. The virtues of the Banyu Urip oil are as follow: it strengthens the bones; it builds-invulnerability against sharp weapons; it causes wounds to heal quickly; it strengthens the skin; it gives magickal protection against negative entities and forces; it increases one's personal magnetism; it gives one "sabda siddhi" or it causes one's words to have power; it increases psychic sensitivity, etc. The Kesambi oil is a class more powerful than the Banyu Urip--aside from invulnerability against sharp weapons, it also makes one invulnerable against bullets. The consumption of 7 bottles of either one of the oils gives long-lasting permanent effects of the powers.

Minyak Cimande

Among martial-artists of Pencak Silat here in Java, Indonesia, the Cimande (pronounced: Chee-Mun-Day) oil is quite famed for its power of invulnerability and its ability to assist the healing of broken bones, bruises, wounds, muscle-pull, twisted ligaments, etc. The physical formula and appearance of the Cimande oil may vary from one shaman producer to another, but the magickal power permeating them as empowered by these producers, are the same. Some of the ingredients of the Cimande oil are scarce and not easily obtainable; therefore, occasionally, the producers of the Cimande oils have to make do with what is available and use the best substitutes--this also contributes to the different appearances from one stock to another even by the same producer. There are many of these Cimande oils sold in traditional markets but not all are genuine--most have been diluted by their resellers to make more profit, so one has to exercise caution when purchasing them. The reseller's practice of cutting the oils is looked upon with a great amount of irritation by their producers.

There are basically two types of Cimande oils--although more are said to exist. These two types of oils may have various appearances, and often, even resembling; however, they are to be differentiated by their purposes and not their looks. The first type is the regular Cimande "balur" oils used for massages, for healing bruises and minor injury cases. The second type helps to heal broken-bones and applied for major muscle injury. It also builds-up invulnerability against sharp-weapons and punches in the user. Some Cimande-oils may be ingested for healing the organs. Cimande-oils may have strong sweet-sourish odors depending on the ingredients used.

The Cimande-oil is highly praised by those involved in martial-arts and contact-sports.

Minyak Ponibasawa

One of the magickal oils appropriated in Islamic occult practice in Indonesia is the Ponibasawa oil. This oil is especially used for uncovering known treasures hidden in certain sites or manifesting money, gold, and jewels through occult rituals. Genuine Ponibasawa oils have been consecrated with the verses of the Quran and the Divine Names--as recited by a whole "choir" of spiritual adepts and their students. The actual force of the ponibasawa lies in the khodams or angelic servants of the Quranic verses and Divine Names anchored into the oil and especially represented by the needles immersed within them. Great energy is also released by the oil in the evaporation process during occult rites, and this conveys the necessary energies for the khodams of the oil to conduct their assigned task. Many anomalies have been noted regarding the ponibasawa oils or its variants, such as, when the vial of the oil is placed in a glass of water, it would cause the evaporation of the water at a very rapid rate. Some have claimed that the khodams of the ponibasawa oils dislike alcohol, thus when brought near bottles of alcoholic beverages, the latter would shatter into pieces.

During rites of treasure retrieval or manifesting money or gold from the ethers, the oil is normally used in conjunction with high grades "Buhur," or powdered incenses. Certain prayers and mantras are recited to activate the power and forces associated with the oil.

There are many ponibasawa oils sold in traditional markets, but they are not all genuine and most of them are fakes in the sense that they are unempowered with occult force. The genuine ones are very costly and scarce and are said to come from Turkey. Ponibasawa oils are of various colors and come in sealed vials in larger glassed-tubes. The number of sealed vials may vary, from one to three--or even more. In each of the sealed vials are empowered needles of a variable amount--the more needles they contain, the more potent the oil--some variants of the ponibasawa oil do not contain any needles, though.

Magickal Oils of Indonesian Shamanism Part 1

Introduction
Almost every shamanic and pagan culture has its own collection of oils used for occult and magickal purposes. In this article we will describe a few of these "minyak" (as oils are called in the Indonesian/Malayan tongue) to be found in the Indonesian archipelago. This is an on-going project and we may update this article whenever we possess additional information regarding the subject.

There are many oils used for occult purposes; we may divide them into two categories: the ordinary ones, and the extraordinary ones. For instance, Zafarron, Misik, and Gaharu oils as used for anointing and writing sigils, seals, kameas, wefeqs, etc., are the "ordinary" ones. Below we will describe the more extraordinary and unusual types of magical oils. We are not able to personally vouch for the truth of the virtues of any of these oils, or in some cases disinclined to. Their descriptions and use are given merely for the sake of information purposes. It should also be noted that most of these oils are rare and difficult to acquire.

Minyak Hadangan

For centuries this potent minyak is considered as the king of love oils. Not only is it used for romantic affairs by men and women, it is also often utilized as an occult media for improving one's business, warding-off black magic and protection against negative energies.

This oil is said to be derived from a rare buffalo-species only to be found in the depths of the southern and eastern Kalimantan (Borneo) forest, especially in the locale of Muara Payang, Muara Kumam, in the regency area of Grogot. In the tribal language of the natives, the Pasir people, Hadangan means "buffalo."

These Hadangan buffaloes are wild and aggressive, and exists not in great amounts in the jungles and forests. The oil is acquired when the animal is already dead and in a state of decomposition. For occult reasons it is forbidden to kill this mammal for their fluid extracts. While the dead body of this animal is decaying, it oozes a certain liquid which is the Hadangan oil. Because of the scarcity of this buffalo, the oil extract is a rare curio. Only certain brave villagers of the Pasir tribe who are daring enough to make the trip to the forest and willing to spend days there are able to acquire this oil.

The Pasir tribes are well-known for their black magic. Visitors abusing privileges and acting arrogantly often find themselves subsequently suffering from maladies, and in extreme cases even death. The Pasir people normally apply the Hadangan oil to capture, tame and domesticate the wild buffaloes. Their method of calling forth these animals is to add a few drops of the oil to their tracks, and not long after, as though by magic, the bellowing creatures would appear. The buffaloes are then tamed and enchanted by dabbing extra oil onto their hides. Under the influence of the magical fluid, the buffaloes follow the hunters willingly. During the trip back to the village, the eyes and ears of the buffaloes are purposefully covered by mud and cloths by the enchanter so that the creatures do not feel threatened by the presence of other human beings. Seeing humans and hearing their voices prematurely would infuriate them and they would start attacking all bystanders. The buffaloes only feel safe with their captors.

During the early days of the discovery of the oil, when used solely to fascinate buffaloes, teenagers began wondering of the possibility of its application in other matters considered important--such as in amorous affairs! They reasoned that if buffaloes were to follow its enchanter with the help of the oil, the opposite sex would surely have a similar reaction when applied on them. After a period of experimentation they discovered that their assumption was indeed true.

Above we stated that this oil was taken from the corpse of the Hadangan buffalo and that they are not permitted to be slaughtered for occult reasons. This could be an excuse, however, made by the Pasir people for their own veiled motives. Certain other sources inform us that these animals are killed for this very purpose and that it is possible to extract the oil by boiling the body parts and organs of the buffalo for several hours in an earthen pot until the oil is released. It is said this should be done in the forest with no one around and aware of the operation. Before boiling, a mantra has to be recited in the tribal language of the Pasir people:

"Lakung bikat lalu laut pisang sulu
Sisi rampung uyat bikat
Ina tinggang puluk ulu"

The method of use of the Hadangan oil in love spells is to dab a little of it to any part of the body of the unsuspecting subject that one wishes to attract using only the right ring-finger. Before dabbing, the above mantra has to be silently chanted and then the oil on the finger is to be blown upon with the breath that has been magically influenced by the mantra. After being smeared with this oil the subject would have the user constantly in her thoughts and would strive as much as possible to be near the magical operator even if prior to its use the subject was aloof and inattentive. Most love oils are applied in a similar manner.

Minyak Bintang

This oil is one of the most mysterious. It originates with the Dayak Benuaq and Tujung tribes of Kalimantan. In their dialect they call it Olaau Bintaakng, "Minyak Bintang," or "Star-oil." This fluid can properly be said to be the "elixir of life" as it possesses rejuvenating properties that not only quickens sickly or sluggish bodies, but also has the power, as it is claimed, to revive the dead. Star-oil works in conjunction with certain inner-strength training and powers, which in Indonesian occult circles are called Ilmu Kedigdayaan or Tenaga Dalam. In China these are referred to as Chi Kung. Individuals who have mastered the use of the Star-oil and unfolded their inner strength are believed to be able to quicken their bodies with a new vital life force and awaken themselves from the death-state.

In bygone days, while war was still common among the tribes in Kalimantan and even in other parts of Indonesia, there was this competitive search among the warrior caste for occult objects and psycho-physical training that would confer upon their possessors and practitioners invulnerability against weapons and supernormal strength, so as to provide an extra advantage over enemies. The ancient tribes believed that war should be won at any cost and if it could be done cheaply and swiftly with magick, it would be adopted. This line of reasoning seems to have their supporters in contemporary governments doing research into PSI-War technology.

To return from our digression, however, certain tribes of the Dayaks eventually came up with a most powerful creation that gave them a virtue beyond their wildest dream: Olaau Bintaakng. This was the pinnacle of their ilmu, or occult knowledge and only a few people were able to master it. Those who had this oil and its power were usually uninterested in acquiring other forms of Ilmu Kedigdayaan. The oil would also have certain psychological effects on their minds and alchemically transmuting personal characteristics such as cowardice into bravery. The fear of death is here mitigated by the power of the oil.

The Star-oil is manufactured by the shamans of the tribe and because of the difficulty in its production it is sold at a steep price; it is for this reason that most clients and consumers of this oil are rich members of the community. Its origin and formula is not known as the Dayak shamans are secretive in this matter. Very little outsiders know about the existence of this oil and most that do know consider it as "old wives' tales."

This oil can be said to offer some sort of physical immortality--but on a temporary basis if the weakness and limitation of this ilmu or power is known by one's enemies. The method of defeating someone who is a Star-Oil Master is to vanquish him and them immediately separate his body parts and bury them in different locations. Only in this manner will he be permanently immobilized; otherwise, he would just revive in the middle of the night when the stars are out and resume his physical life. No matter how badly injured, bruised, wounded, and killed in an accident or war, when the stars start shining the corpse would hear the "trumpet-call" and respond with vigor--this is the Dayak's version of the resurrection. This process is dissimilar to zombies, the supposedly living-dead. The corpse of the Star-oil master would actually be reanimated and regenerated with vital-force giving it new life. It does not matter if the blood has been congealed and the body in a rigor mortis condition. When nightfall comes, the body would gradually awaken. The effects of the Star-Oil has some resemblance to the Javanese occult powers such as "Ilmu Rawa Rontek," and "Aji Pancasona."

We believe that scientific research on this oil would be greatly beneficial to humanity although the latter as a whole may not be prepared for it yet. Additionally, acquiring a sample of this oil from the Dayaks for analysis would be quite a problem as they are very wary of strangers visiting their communities or giving their magickal items or secrets away.

The Star-oil itself has a greenish or yellowish hue and is very simply applied. All that one has to do is to consume a few drops on a Thursday night, together with the application of other essential instructions from the shaman and this would be enough to provide one with the life-long power. This occult virtue cannot be magically transferred to others unless they likewise consume the elixir. Dying persons when given this oil-potion would be "guaranteed" to recover even if they were to subsequently show signs of death. The Star-oil would have its effect when the stars are out.

Minyak Kawiyang

Another rare Dayak specialty is Minyak Kawiyang, or "Kawiyang Oil." Some also call it Minyak Sumbulik. According to sources this oil originates in the Kinibalu mountains. There is a romantic legend related to this minyak.

In the olden days there lived at the foot of the Kinibalu mountains a beautiful widow who for some unknown reason year after year grew more and more beautiful. It was not surprising that she had many suitors who sought her hand in marriage. For some reason, though, the matrimonial-state did not last long for her and every marriage ended in divorce.

While on her death-bed, all of her ex-99 husbands came to visit, weeping and regretting their past immature behavior towards her. Minutes after her transition, and in the midst of the gathering, a voice from nowhere was suddenly heard. It said to the men that their wife having loved her husbands dearly left for them a chalice filled with oil. They were instructed by this voice to share the oil among them and to always cherish it as a souvenir and reminder of the woman's love, and that they were not to forget her. This oil later became known as Kawiyang.

Putting legends aside, Kawiyang-oil comes in five different types and colors: black, red, green, yellow and white. Each of these is said to have its own special virtues. The black Kawiyang confers invisibility, charisma, authority, and invulnerability to hand weapons; while the red Kawiyang gives an anti-gravity field to the body making it possible to undergo journeys in the quickest time possible. Wide rivers and mountain crevasses are easily crossed with single leaps. The red Kawiyang also gives the ability to command the Jin spirits to assist in physical combat. Green Kawiyang oil has its use in the santet and teluh forms of black magic. This oil may also be used for gaining or maintaining a youthful appearance. It is believed that this is acquired through vampiric activities. Just a dab of the oil on the neck and the head is supposed to sever itself from the body and fly-off somewhere to look for victims in order to suck their blood. Some of the green oils have bluish tints and this is supposed to be another excellent source for the working of black magic. It has the power to de-materialize objects and materializing it again as malicious implants in the bodies of victims. The unfortunate person subjected to such implants pass away not long after.

Yellow Kawiyang oil is used for love, attraction, and fascination. No spells and mantras are needed for this. All that is required is to acquire a drop or two with the fingertips and to apply them in the palms. The two palms are then rubbed together. After this all that one has to do is to touch with one's hands and fingers the subject that we wish to fascinate--perhaps as in a handshake.

Riches and wealth may be acquired with the utilization of the white Kawiyang oil. This is one of the magical oils mostly pursued--for it has the power to instantly manifest money from the invisible worlds. Those possessing this oil are given financial security. Nothing much has to be done--money materializes supernaturally on one's lap almost without supervision or direction to the familiar spirit associated with the oil. Shipwrecks, destroyed houses and buildings, and buried money are some of the sources of this wealth.

White Kawiyang oil may also be used to magically transport money spent in shopping back to us. In other words, money spent are occultly deported back to the spender.

Each of the oils has its familiar belonging to the genie or jinn type of spirits. The etheric guardian of the white Kawiyang oil has the form of the woman who had 99 husbands. The familiars of the other minyaks are said to be sisters of the above Jinn. They are called Camariah, Dandaniah, Tambuniah and Uraniah.

According to certain native psychics who are well versed with Dayak lore and occultism, in order to function, every year these oils have to be given sesajen, or food-offerings, which are not always fit for human consumption. The black oil should be given the blood of a black chicken together with black glutinous rice. The red and green oil requires blood from one's ring-finger and the water of red sugar-cane, while the yellow and white oils need to be nourished with gold dust.

Although they look fluid, these oils have the consistency of agar or jelly and for reasons not quite known they pulsate visibly as though alive. Although we have not personally seen this ourselves, reliable friends have assured us that this is indeed true as they have seen these oils with their own eyes. When poured out of its vessel it shows its elastic nature like rubber glue.

The oils are kept in little ceramic vessels designed for oils called cupu (pronounced choopoo), but not just any cupu, because inappropriate vessels would crack. They should be in their proper colors too. There should not be any mirrors in the room where they are kept, and enough ventilation is required for their proper preservation.

The cupu containing the Kawiyang oil should be placed upon pieces of cloths assembled in layers, one on top of another. The bottom cloth is white, symbolizing "death." The middle-layered cloth is yellow representing "protection." The uppermost cloth, black in color, signify sanctity.

Atop of the cloths should be placed a plate made out of no other material but white porcelain. A mixture of ordinary rice and the glutinous sort should fill about half the plate. This rice mixture is where the cupu with the Kawiyang oil is placed and maintained.

Should the oils be kept indiscriminately without following the above instruction they would soon lose their power. If this occurs, a certain purification ritual must be conducted every Friday and Sunday nights, including full moons to revive the weakening oil. The method is to set up the oil with the lay-out above and then have 3 pieces of red incenses burning together with a lit candle. The incense should be half-consumed before proceeding to the next step. When ready, raise the oil with the plate, together with the cloths above the incense to be purified by the smoke. Have them encircle clockwise around the incense three to seven times. Put the objects down, and then raise just the plate and the oil and repeat the process. This purification should be done for the third time with only the cupu. Encircle the oil vessel 3 to 7 times clockwise around the smoke. While sanctifying the objects with smoke recite the following mantra:

"Jinak ulah raja benila putih nur putih sinar urang gaib"

Once the purification process has been completed the candle may be extinguished but allow the incense be totally consumed.

There is this belief that Kawiyang oil should be taken out of one's dwelling place when a member of one's household passes away. Only after the deceased has been buried is it permissible to return the cupu with the oil to its original place within the home.

It is also said that the possessor of the Kawiyang oil should not quarrel with one's wife or commit adultery for this would cause ill fortune. If violated one should rectify the situation by pouring the blood of a black chicken onto the oil vessel and the plate of rice. This cleansing should be repeated with red sugar cane juice.

This oil should not be passed on to others indiscriminately. It should only be given to others after having possessed it for at least three years, and not during the night for it is considered dangerous to do so. Those requesting this oil should prepare a cupu and a golden scissors beforehand--the cupu to receive the oil and the scissors to cut the rubbery strands. The one receiving the oil should make a promise to obey the injunctions and to properly care for it. The Kawiyang oil should not be defiled by filthy water, otherwise, it would lose its power.

Telekinesis is also known as psychokinesis or (PK), which is the moving of objects using just your mind with no other physical contact involved. This is probably the rarest ability because very few have been able to demonstrate such ability and skeptics pretty much don’t believe in it at all. However, it still generates interest and there have been a few modern studies in this phenomenon to the point that in this modern age, the term remote influencing is being used more and more instead of psychokinesis.

On the other hand, since the brain is made up of electrical impulses and objects also are made up of electrical impulse, it wouldn’t surprise me to find that this ability is innate in each of us, but it may be a type of mind power that is very difficult to access.

There have been extraordinary people though who have demonstrated that ability. One famous psychic who laid claim to psychokinetic power was a Russian woman by the name of Nina Kulagina. She demonstrated she was able to move a wide range of objects, including clock pendulums and crystal bowls and these demonstrations were captured on film.

A more modern psychic is Uri Geller, publicly demonstrated his ability to perform psychokinesis by bending spoons and keys. Not only did Geller demonstrate this ability, he showed he could do this from a distance. On one British radio show in 1973, after Geller showed off is key-bending ability to his host, he invited the audience to become involved. A few minutes later, the stations phone were ringing off the hook with people telling the host that their knives, forks etc were actually bending.

Theories on how psychokinesis works generally depend on the energy created by electromagnetic impulses or the universal life force energy that we tap into when our minds are in top form. It sometimes can happen at random, without the concentration needed to produce a bent object or throw an object across the room. Some studies suggest that large parts of physical energy can be triggered by thought power.

It has been said that poltergeist (noisy ghosts) activity could be caused by the subconscious of people under stress, generally young people or people who are experiencing severe emotional turmoil. These people, without being aware of it, cause plates to fly off shelves, books to fly off bookshelves and breaking objects breaking themselves on the floor as well as other misadventures.

Regardless how you feel about the issue, you still can have fun experimenting.

One fun way of experimenting with PK is to throw a key or spoon bending party. Invite a few friends over or if you need to entertain children, they are more open to this than many adults. Decide what it is you want to bend and make sure everyone brings one. Make it fun, but do try to get your utensil to bend by focusing your mind on the object. It is not necessary to stare at the object, just think about it. Focus your eyes on another part of a wall or something, but think of the spoon or other objects you are trying to bend.
